Gotta be the best Japanese food on the westside. The pork katsu is so delicious and i’m obsessed with the spicy mustard sauce they serve with it. I love getting take out/delivery from here

The food was pretty good, of what I tried the chicken nanban was the best. My server Kimie O was fantastic.

After traveling Japan for a month earlier in the year, I was craving Japanese food, so we checked out this spot off Sawtelle. 1 hour of parking is complimentary in the underground lot, but the attendant will charge you for any additional time. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor on the right side of the complex.
The atmosphere of the place was nice and I enjoyed the booth seating, but the service was very minimal. We had to ask for drink refills and wave down our server for everything from initial ordering to the check.
The udon I ordered was actually really tasty and came out super hot. It was on the sweeter side and the tempura shrimp on top was well cooked, but was lacking salt. I'd recommend taking it out of the bowl to eat little by little so it doesn't get immediately soggy. Unfortunately the egg inside was cooked weird and still had shell bits on it.
The Carbonara was very creamy, but needed more seasoning. The ham added some saltiness, but it needed more. Maybe they could add dried seaweed flakes on top? Overall however, this meal was too heavy and too large a portion. If the dish had more elements to it that balanced out the heaviness, perhaps half the amount of noodles and sauce and a side salad instead, it would have been a more enjoyable meal.

Midoh is a hidden gem with a great selection of authentic Japanese diner classics. Had the Hamburg steak and it was epic with the teriyaki sauce. Super filling and yummy. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely go back.

Amazing restaurant all around. Calm atmosphere, absolutely DELICIOUS food, and wonderful customer service. All of their food is hands down amazing. Even just the salads and soups delectable! One of my favorite restaurants in all of JapanTown Sawtelle!

AWFUL AMD APATHETIC TO DIETARY RESTRICTIONS. They were concerningly negligent of gluten intolerance. If I were celiac I would’ve had to be hospitalized. Stomach in shambles. My super awesome hot smart kind funny girlfriend is having stomach issues and she’s got an iron stomach so that says something

Slow.
Very.
I've become a sucker for their omurice! Always felt like a solid choice after a busy day with friends by ordering some omelette rice, some karaage, and a pitcher of Asahi to split.

Authentic Japanese meals, delightful to indulge. The dinning room is large, peaceful, Japanese music is always playing. Sake bottles are used as decor which makes it feel a little bland, so a suggestion to find something stylish or plants. There is a small outdoor seating area which usually feels chilly. Drink selection seems decent, teas are good.
Starting off our meal with miso soup which tasted authentic and a small three greens salad with the signature orange sauce. I am aware a few years back it was made/sold in house, I forgot to ask on my recent visit.
*When ordering please be aware of specifying which type of tempura you would prefer*
The Hamburg steak is a mix of pork + beef, found out they are freshly made and will sell out although I do not recommend to a picky eater. I have ordered the Curry with an add on of chicken as pictured below. The amount of protein for 8.50 does not feel fulling. My favorite go to dish is the Omurice, recent picture with demi glaze although I highly recommend asking for curry sauce.

What a hidden gem. Probably one of the few places in Sawtelle you can call ahead and make a reservation. Food was good. Enjoyed the hamburger steak with demiglaze sauce as well as the basil udon. The service was quick and efficient. Classic dinner seating nothing fancy but if you want good food without the fuss this is where to go. We will definitely be back!

Hidden gem on Sawtelle - on the second floor above Nikita
Authentic Japanese-style western cuisine, and a great value too.
We got the takoyaki which was solid, and the side soup and salad were good as well. The star of the show was the Hamburg steak with the demi-glace, deep flavor that pairs well with everything else on their menu as well. The seafood soup uding was excellent and garlicky without being too rich.
Service was fast and helpful

It's a nice small seated restaurant. All the food that came out was hot and fresh. I loved the takoyaki and katsu-don.
