This restaurant is a local restaurant to my home. I order from this restaurant all the time because it’s convenient. I ordered food and while waiting for my food to be prepared I dozed off. When I woke up the restaurant was suppose to still be open with two hours until the official closing time.

I ran downstairs to grab my food and they had decided to close the restaurant two hours early. The next day I came down and they told me they weren’t going to remake it because I never came to get it. I told them I did come to get it y’all closed early. They really have me a hard time about remaking my food.

Since then I’ve ordered food four times and the hostess ( hispanic) literally ignores me now. Today I ordered food and the owner accused me of being racist and prejudice. Threatened to pepper spray me if I didn’t leave the restaurant and was just very rude and nasty. He even threatened to call his gang member friends to come “handle” me.

Love the giant horseshoe counter seating. There were 4 of us and no room at the counter so sat at the 4-top in the front window. Super friendly atmosphere and lots of food options. I got the chilequiles and they were perfect. Everyone loved their breakfast - they even have hash browns which is harder and harder to find on a breakfast menu. You're not likely going to make this a destination location, but if you're in the area, don't hesitate, just go!

Good breakfast omelet. Great value. Some of Michael Jackson's Beat it video was filmed there.

I had an incredible dining experience here! The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The menu offered a fantastic variety, making it hard to choose just one favorite!

The staff were just as impressive as the food. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing a great experience. It felt like they truly cared about the customers.

I can't recommend this place enough! If you're looking for a memorable meal in a welcoming atmosphere, you have to check this out. I encourage anyone and everyone to come and enjoy! You won’t be disappointed!

It’s rare to find a place in downtown that both caters to the locals and welcomes visitors to the neighborhood like this place does. This cafe is a long time staple of this neighborhood and its legacy lives on through its new owners. No one else in the neighborhood can beat their prices and especially not at the quality. No frills, just good food and good people serving and making it.

We came to visit our daughter in LA and just walked in this breakfast cafe two days ago. It was the best old American breakfast we have had for a long time. The vegetable egg omelette was perfectly cooked and great house coffee we liked very much. Service was great. One cool plus is that we realized this is the place they filmed Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” music video😄. We really enjoyed the experience! Thanks!! Li and Vickie

The Monte Carlo is a perfect family table type setting. After a couple visits the owner knows you by name as well as with everything you order
