Everyone loves the Monty! If you like to party it can't be beat. Ample parking taco truck smash burger liquor store and the teragram right next door and all within in a small area. Party onš

I visited The Monty Bar while on vacation in Los Angeles, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable stops of my trip. I happened to come in on reggae night, and the DJ set the perfect tone for the eveningāthe music blended seamlessly with the vibe of the space, adding to the atmosphere without being overwhelming.
The bar itself has a unique charm. From what I gathered, it may have once been an old train depot that has since been retrofitted into a warm, wood-lined bar with character in every corner. The combination of dark wood, cozy seating areas, and subtle lighting gives it a timeless feel thatās both rustic and inviting. Itās the kind of place that makes you want to settle in for the night.
The highlight of my visit, though, was without a doubt the bartender. I believe her name was Kyokoāan attractive young woman, probably in her late 20s or early 30s, with a warm and enthusiastic smile that made me feel instantly welcome. She went above and beyond to make the experience fun. At one point, she prepared a five-shot drink mixture that wasnāt just tasty but also interactive and entertainingāit felt like a mini event in itself. After that, I tried one of her Old Fashioneds, and it was hands down one of the best Iāve ever had. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and crafted with obvious care. From what I could tell, these drinks are her specialty, and Iād highly recommend anyone visiting to give them a try.
Another nice touch was the outdoor lounge area in the back. Itās a relaxed, open space where you can bring your drinks, enjoy a cigarette if thatās your thing, or just take in the warm Los Angeles night air while unwinding away from the main bar crowd.
All in all, The Monty Bar impressed me with its mix of atmosphere, music, history, and top-notch service. Between the reggae night vibes, the cozy wooden interior, and the outstanding drinks by Kyoko, it checked all the boxes for a great night out. Iāll definitely be back the next time Iām in LA.

I didnāt want to leave this review because Iāve had good times here but after losing my card there couple weeks ago itās been an inconvenience and hassle to contact Montyās after hours. I lost my card at Montyās a few weeks ago, Iāve been contacting them thru the contact info listed on google, and itās inaccurate. Their phone is disconnected and they have not replied to my email or dms. Why even have that number there if it doesnāt even work??? Or have the email there if they canāt even respond?? I even tried going there personally to see if my card is there and they were closed when it shows that itās open?? I stumbled across their āsound systemā guy and he couldnāt even assist me to check if my card was there. He was useless and unkind, telling me he was busy to ask them. I get that he was busy but it doesnāt take a long time to check. THUS, if you loose your card there, good luck contacting them. Wished they could have a better way to respond to inquiries.
Awesome big and dark bar, very open. They spin reggae often

Pathetic āDJsā who think they know music because they spin mainstream records from the 70s/80s.

Restaurantji Recommends
Service for drinks was quick, and the prices were reasonable. The bar is spacious, but the womenās restroom stalls are too small and not well-stocked with supplies. Parking is available on the street. It's conveniently located in the heart of Downtown LA.
