Dead! Not the same happening spot it was. There was probably 15 people there on a freaking Saturday night... still cute inside though

Cool place to go after a show at the ballroom. Decent drinks. Cool vibe… They had a live band playing while a projector played a movie in the background.

We came in right before going to a show and found this place. Super big inside and inside an old style hall. The bar tender helped and served us right away and we spent some time sitting at the bar. Drinks were good.

Saw the bartender with the glasses assaulting a customer. Earlier in the night the same bartender (who I believe is the manager) was being aggressive with his coworker. The security guard also was slapping drinks out of peoples hands for what ever reasons he had. If you come here be ready for staff to fight you physically.

Loved the bar. Did not like the rude screaming doorman

The bartender clearly has issues from his past that he takes out on customers, but then he walked around the bar but had toilet paper stuck to his foot and we all laughed. Great food.

saw the door guy and owner gang up on and *kick* a woman repeatedly & then harass someone who tried to deescalate. absolutely does not belong in the neighborhood

Service for drinks was fast. Decent drink prices. Spacious bar, women's restroom stalls are way too small. Not stocked with supplies. Parking is on the street. Located in the heart of Downtown LA.

Went a bit early so it wasn't very crowded upon arrival. Met with a friendly bartender and drinks were average prices but not weak at all :). Bar had an awesome dj playing Spanish covers of some buddy holly era oldies and every seat at the bar filled up by 10pm! They have a back patio that I wouldn't have known to look for but this bar was full of friendly people early to mid thirties and i would definitely go back! Gotta mention the disco ball too! LOVED THAT!

You call yourself a PUNK BAR??? That is so incredibly disappointing. Monty’s is full of coked out loser employees and management. Montys actively disgustingly discriminates against POC, women, and homeless people. Read down for more reviews giving similar opinions. THIS BAR IS NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN.

I witnessed the owner (manager?) (someone unloading liquor from the back of their car at 11pm) and the door guy kick a woman in a tent in front a of a near by business (not theirs). I was waiting in front of the smoke shop two doors down and was startled when two men started yelling. When I peered around the corner I see that they're yelling at a singular tent that is outside of the vacant business in between the smoke shop and them. Then I witness both the men start kicking the tent while saying "we know you're in there" and to each other"she needs to move" so acknowledging it is a woman they are kicking and that she is inside of the tent they are kicking. They did not once try to approach the situation with care or compassion. They assaulted a houseless woman.THEN. She flew her tent, leaving her belongings and the boys seemed to settled down and from there I walk towards them, three white appearing males talking about bob seager like he matters, I wait for ten minutes until I finally pull -manager seeming dude- aside and say "hey can I have a word withyou?"I tell him that I can understand that it can be frustrating to know what to do in these situations but that I saw himKNOWINGLY kick a woman and that wasn't ok. He proceeded to get less than an inch away from my face screaming at me I didn't understand and that he kicked her because he had to. "I told her to move and she didn't!" --they gave her like three seconds to even respond-- (also physically hurting anyone is not called for in this situation) The door guy also called me a Karen and told me to leave a yelp review to which I said "Why would I do that, I am literally say this to your face right now?" But after further reflection, it's obvious to me, that both men, with how aggressively they were coming at me and how I literally saw them assault another woman, don't actually care.So I wanna leave this review and I want evervone to know how this bar is treating its neighbors, because our houseless friends are our neighbors. She wasn't doing anything but sleeping. Imagine being woken up to people kicking you in the stomach
