This is a samgyetang restaurant that I visit every year on Boknal. The taste is delicious and the side dishes are absolutely delicious! It's not too salty and just right :)I recommend Myeongdong Kalguksu, where the portions are generous and the staff is very friendly!!

The AC in this place is freezing! The food is undeniably authentic Korean, but the spices are overwhelming. Additionally, the prices are on the higher side. Overall, it's an okay experience if you can handle the cold and enjoy strong flavors, but it's a bit pricey. There is no sign in English. You can't find it on the map if you don't know the name in Korean.

Home style noodle house. Pro tip: the noodle portions are huge. Consider sharing.

The food overall wasn't bad, but there were too many bone pieces in the chicken stew.

I wish they’d fix the horrible loud high pitch vent that disturbs the whole corner. I can say for certain the whole neighborhood hates them for it.

This is hands down - my all time favorite restaurant in Ktown. Whenever I crave comfort - home cooked meals, I always come here. Everything on their menu is good but my favorites are their steamed dumplings and samgyetang but EVERYTHING is good here and I've been coming here for over 20 years.

The customer service could be better. The receipt is not delivered itemized so I couldn’t see why there were extra charges. Perhaps charging for every refill of water. I dined in and tipped $6 on my credit card. I asked for a takeout bowl for the soup. Waitress said $1 for the to go paper bowl container. You couldn’t just take the $1 from the $6 tip I put on my credit card? So I had to look for a $1 cash bill from my wallet. No signs posted on the menu or walls of needing to pay extra for to go containers. So, I was taken back that my credit card tip was not considered. In addition, another worker from the cashier side voluntarily offered me three small plastic containers to go for the side kimchi dishes when she walked by my table seeing me pack up my food to go. At first, I thought that was positively kind. However, saw that they were missing lids and pointed that out if I can have the lids. Afterwards, The lady gave me two lids and took back the third container and said, “No take out on the side dishes just only these two containers.” Well..why did you offer it to me in the first place then retract them after I pointed out the lids were missing? The customer service ruined my experience of the restaurant and I will never recommend or return again.

The food was fire! We ordered the dumplings #19. Rice dishes #20. And spicy kimchi soup #3! Total for a stuffed party of 3 was 66$. The authenticity and welcoming to the restaurant was priceless! Felt like my Aunt was cooking me a home cooked meal!

The first bite of soup + rice cakes with my tteok guk order was the epitome of a warm grandmother's hug. That soup can solve all of my life's problems in one bite and help me forget all the silly things I was worried about. There's just something about this soup that melts my anxieties away... I sound dramatic, but I'm writing this review 2 months late and my mood isn't great today - the first thing I thought to myself was, "You know what'd cure this sadness? A bowl of tteokguk from Myung Dong." The soup hits all the right spots in what my taste buds define as good soup! Clear broth, not too oily, lil bits of meat, soft rice cakes, and soft scrambled eggs. Love at first bite. If I were to come back to LA again, this would be the first thing I'd want to eat. Also, vibes are immaculate. You *know* it's good when the Korean grannies and gramps are their customer base! We went right before lunch and were surprised to see how quickly the restaurant filled up shortly after we had arrived. Myung Dong looks unassuming, but truly the soup here is so delicious.

Updated menu as of 11/20/2023This place is like my second home. The food and the servers are both wonderful. I come here almost everyday for dinner. The owner is very generous in giving variety side dishes!
