Don't show up at LAX hungry.
I was going to grab a bite or a coffee while switching planes in terminal 5 at LAX until I saw they were charging $6 for a plain coffee and $20 for some sandwiches. I decided to keep my money. I'm only here for an hour. The fruits and sandwiches do look good though.

Very expensive for what we got but if you made the mistake of not grabbing something in the main airport building (like us) this is pretty much what you get. I mean, it is airport food, on an isolated regional terminal, I don’t blame it for being expensive. We got two chicken paninis and paid over $45. The pesto panini tasted fine, the chipotle panini was dry and not super flavorful. Overall the sandwiches seemed fresh. The staff at the cafe was pleasant and polite too.
