it’s probably a good thing that they’re going out of business because, based on my experience, they are either incompetent, mendacious or likely both. I ordered a surprise bag of whatever they had left yesterday, to be picked up today. this was using the Too Good To Go app. it’s intended to minimize throwing out good food at the end of the day. I have used the app successfully about four times before with other stores or restaurants. They specified a pick up time between 1:30 and 1:45 pm. I arrived, after fighting traffic to DTLA and finding parking. when I identified myself, they told me there was no food bag available and the kitchen was backed up. I pointed out that this was supposed to be yesterdays food, both to the hostess and then the manager. the manager tried to tell me that until I clicked the app button saying I had received the food then no harm no foul. of course, my time and effort getting there was of no concern. I could not get them to budge. so GOOD RIDDANCE. HAVE A NICE LIFE. only one spot because you can’t give no spots.

Only wish- daily biscuits and doughnuts. Super clean establishment-surprisingly so given the location. The servers knew what we needed before we did (homemade salsa verde and jam). Food was incredible, building very well maintained, hospitality wayyy beyond expectations. We don’t live in LA but if we did this would be our regular spot. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of us!

I came looking for the pop tarts and it seems this is the only place in LA that’s sells a homemade pop tart? It was fine, $6.5 is a lot for such a small pastry with not much filling. The menu is awesome though, so many options and everything looked great. We ordered a scramble and the special that came with duck bacon and supposed to be a poached egg (I think it’s their speciality) but I swapped for scrambled eggs.Loved the interior and we had excellent service.

It’s the second time to visit and first time since Covid. We are so glad everything hasn’t changed so much even after the pandemic. The staff was super nice and sweet. The menu is still very good. We had the barbecue pork with poached eggs and sausage with eggs and of course the pastry. All were super tasty! If you are in downtown, it’s worthy to come and check!

This place is amazing I love the atmosphere and customer service. We were seated quickly and the food was not a long wait either. They serve different pastries daily they would check in with us periodically to see if we needed anything else. We parked in front of the place and put quarters in the meter we didn’t know if it worked or not due to all the graffiti that was on the screen but I would say bring quarters just in case better safe then sorry. This was a lovely experience I highly recommend anyone to eat here.

We were in LA for the day and didn't know where to stop for breakfast. We got lost and ended up on this street. This restaurant is small but the food was good. I got the chilaquiles. The portion sizes are smaller than most places. The prices were medium fairly priced. Nice place and we'll be going back. The parking was off the street and the meter was free because of the time of day that we went in. Parking was free for 2 hrs.

Great selection of pancakes for breakfast! Excellent pancakes; ham was also requested (both HUGE portions).

The food and the service were both excellent! The owner was very personable and visited with us and gave us some history about this wonderful diner! We definitely will be returning! Something you don't want to miss if you're in LA!

This is a really cool diner in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. However, it isn't that large so if you come during a busy time, you may have to wait a while. The diner is unique because they make their own homemade Pop-Tarts. They also have some interesting donuts. I tried the strawberry almond donut, which was tasty, but a little bit messy to eat so I needed to eat it with a fork and knife. The apple Pop-Tart was delicious, but not relatively filling.

Saw this on Bobby and Sophie do the Coast. Huge portions, quick service. Polenta was my favorite. Had a ham, leek and Fontina scramble, daughter had the hangover helper. Both great. Plenty leftover.

I was looking for a good diner for a breakfast burrito and some old fashioned coffee and that’s exactly what I got! Quick and kind service, delicious food. Just wish I was hungry enough to try a donut or homemade poptart!

The chilaquilles are great. I had the eggs medium, the portion is pretty big. Meter street parking available.
