I was visiting L.A. with my friends to see a show. We decided to explore Echo Park and Silverlake and I'm delighted we came across Alejandras Cart. It's a popular spot but waiting with other customers and watching the food being made is part of the experience. Delicious food, great people.
This cart is a great example of what I love about the LA food scene: tucked off the boulevard, in front of the municipal parking, is high quality, hand made food at a great price.
Asked for suggestions of what to get and was suggested a mix of Huitlachoche and Chicharron. The blue masa is pressed and cooked to order, cooked with cheese, and then finally cooked with the fillings. A nice addition to the salsa bar is the cotija cheese which went great with my Quesadilla.
