Love their speciality drinks and fun breads and pastries. I got the curry pan and the strawberry sakura latte and both were really good. The floral and berry flavors worked nicely with the coffee but the sakura flavor wasn’t super strong. Pretty centrally located in Little Tokyo and the staff are really nice. There were a few tables inside but I took my order to go.

It was the best Taro latte of my entire life. Nothing has ever compared to it. It's a shame I live in Texas.

Ordered the Oyako Kinpira Gobo. The Kinpira Gobo (Braised burdock root) was very pleasant, a bit sweet and salty filling in this very light and delightful pastry. It's a very good size and makes for a nice snack option midday. This is a small cafe located in the Miyako Hotel with adjoining and separate entrance in the heart of Little Tokyo. This cafe does not occupy a lot of space so seating is limited, good for light conversations or very short term work space. Parking is always a challenge here so be mindful.

Immediately after the store opened, I purchased French toast, two types of salt bread, and curry bread. All of them were freshly baked, soft and delicious, so I recommend them for breakfast. It tasted better than eating at a Japanese bakery!

Nestled inside the Miyako Hotel lobby, Okayama Kobo Bakery & Cafe DTLA is a haven for bread lovers seeking authentic Japanese flavors. Forget mass-produced pastries – here, everything is hand-crafted using 100% Hokkaido flour, resulting in loaves with an irresistible pillowy texture and a symphony of flavors. My personal favorites include the Rudolph seasonal bun, and the Cookie Salt & Butter Roll. Each bite is a testament to the bakery's dedication to quality and traditional techniques. While the baked goods were truly outstanding, I have to admit the latte was a bit of a letdown. It tasted slightly watery, lacking the rich and creamy texture I expect from a good latte. However, considering the exquisite breads and charming atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend Okayama Kobo for anyone seeking an authentic Japanese bakery experience in the heart of DTLA.

We stayed at Miyako Hotel. Stopped atthe Cafe to check out the food. We got the hotdog and panini. Both were delicious.
