This place is very close to achieving what it's setting out to do: provide an elegant vegetarian dining experience. I think that might be hard to pull off in a strip mall however. The food and the art are fantastic but the interior design was poorly executed and comes off looking a little cheap. I went for my birthday but for the price this might have been a one time experience. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-06

One of the best restaurants, let alone vegetarian eateries, in Los Angeles.I recently had the pleasure of bringing a friend visiting from San Francisco (omnivore) to enjoy Olivia's incredible menu offering—in all, we ordered the Crispy Chicken starter, Ricotta Pizza, and Cavatelli pasta. Don't let the food be the only thing that catches your eye though: their wine menu is splendid and their servers will be able to suggest something that pairs nicely with your selected courses. Prior to this dinner, I had eaten at Olivia 5-6 times and had no idea Anderson Paak was one of the people behind this incredible concept—imagine my surprise when he walks in the door to enjoy dinner with a few of his friends. This place is a true treat and I hope it continued success!

Very interesting location being in KTown in a small strip mall (with parking!) and a block away from some hip bars like Lock & Key. There is also metered parking across the street but if you come late enough, it should be free. We came not knowing it was a vegetarian restaurant (our bad) but that didn't matter. The food was delicious nonetheless. Walking in, it feels boho chic with some sculptures and paintings of ancient beings (?). Menu is on the QR code where you can order and pay through your phone but the servers are there to help if anything.Squash Blossoms: Lightly battered, filled with ricotta, and fried with a pumpkin seed sauce that reminded me of satay sauce. The combo of cheese and sauce was a great contrasts. Comes with only 3 blossoms so kind of pricey for what it is but deliciousRoasted Cauliflower: Solid but I really like roasted cauliflower. Good portion and good proportion of cauliflower to sauceSpouting Brassica: Tangy and reminded me of the sweet chili thai sauce that you can get from the market. Fennel is not something I generally look to order but it didn't taste licorice-y maybe masked by the sauce.Jackfruit Barbacoa Fusili: The fusili was al dente, which is always great. Jackfruit felt like it was missing or lack the punch I usually associate with jackfruit. It's a solid dish though with the tomato and cheese sauce.Anderson Pizza: A bit too many conflicting flavors. Jalapeno + kimchee didn't seem to work for me. Pizza crust was good though but too many things going on and would've preferred a lighter pizza focusing on one flavor. They also specialize in wines. I got a cab but it was very light without much tannins, which was interesting. Tasty but unexpected.Overall, a solid meal with some hits, good and friendly service, and a cool vibe for a easy meal.

Run, don't walk!!! What a culinary feast and best service we have pretty much ever had! Chef Mario Alberto is such a talent and we were blown away by the inventiveness of the vegetarian menu (even though we are not vegetarians we were quick converts!). Gen Manager LA runs the restaurant like a tight, friendly ship and keeps the ambiance warm to accompany the wonderful food! Our waitstaff Lorena and Alison were incredible and made the experience all the more memorable. The pizzas were great, Anderson had a bit of bite and really I would never have guessed vegetarian, the fried olives had the most delicious ricotta you have ever tasted (all cheeses made in house). Well curated fabulous wine list/ We have been fans of Ricardo Zarate since the early Mo Chica days and you could see his fingerprints on the experience and menu. Bravo!!!! We see the Michelin star in the future.PS: Service was quite remarkable in the post COVID era!

This restaurant is amazing! Literally everything I tried (which was a lot) was delicious. I recommend the crispy chicken (mushrooms), fried olives (the crunch is unreal), squash blossoms, and the anderson pizza (absolutely delicious)! If you still have room, the desert was so good, too! We had the chocolate torte and some type of carmelly custard I'm not sure what it was called. The bottle of rose we had was also great. The waiters and servers were all so kind and attentive. The night we were there, the owner came over and spoke to us. He said they just got recognized in the Michelin guide and he was so excited! Olivia is a little hidden gem tucked inside of a strip mall. The interior is so cozy and would be great for a date or an intimate friend's dinner. Updated from previous review on 2023-12-21

Olivia. It's a lovely name that happens to front a lovely restaurant in the heart of K-town that is unexpected, but very welcome. There are comfortable seats against the walls with very comfortable pillows. The staff is friendly and welcoming even to random parties like ours that dropped by on a whim with no idea of its vegetarian menu focus. Unfortunately, none of the pizzas were available that day as the chef was having trouble with the dough. So we weren't able to partake in some of the most popular items on the menu, but we did enjoy the mushrooms and "fried chicken". The grilled bread was stellar. If your palate leans vegetarian, Olivia is a great place. Even if you're not, the pizza probably can hold the attention of even the most stalwart non-vegetarian. There is a good amount of parking in the lot, but the space can be tight.

Cavatelli was rich and meaty (all not meat lol) and my favorite! I was full! My friend ordered the other pasta dish which was lighter and more acid. Pizzas and salads look good too.Parking: I parked on the street at 2nd on a Wednesday after work. My friend easily found lot parking altho it looked pretty full to me.

I am about as far away on the food spectrum as you could get from a vegetarian or vegan, but Olivia was from start to finish one of my favorite meals in LA recently. The vibes and ambiance were so nice, the service was absolutely top notch, and the food only got more impressive as the meal continued. We had the fried olives, the eggplant salad, the mushroom pizza, and the Anderson pizza. The latter two were my favorites of the night, but the fried olives and eggplant salad delivered so much flavor! 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone and definitely plan on coming back very soon.
