Nanci's place was amazing... The service food and ambience were A1... But you must make a reservation. The food was fantastic.
Nothing but the best, innovative and deliciously crafted cuisine from Nancy Silverton. Always a dining treat at Osteria Mozza!
Wow!! We were so excited to be able to get reservations to Mozza during a business trip to LA. We got sit at the mozzarella bar and watch everything be made. The appetizer was outstanding. We got fresh burrata with dried peppers. It was drizzled with an outstanding olive oil. Our server, Alyssa, was one of the best servers we've ever had and we've travelled and dined globally. Our entrees were spaced perfectly. We started with the raviola. It was presented beautifully. It was exceptional. We also had the cacio e Pepe. Again, delicious and so rich. The final pasta was a ragu. The fresh pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich and meaty. Dessert was a scoop of salted caramel gelato and an espresso, which we turned into the best affogato ever. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Experience was underwhelming, or maybe it was an off night. Mentioned during the reservation that it was my wife's birthday and would be our first time trying the restaurant. The server was nice but did not seem attentive and did not know that it was my wife's birthday until later on. Also asked about the menu but only mentioned the 3 categories: antipasto/ primi /secondo without going into other details. Mozzarella and bread were the best things about the dinner. Very extensive wine lists from Italy. I would recommend it for mozzarella, wine, and a more intimate seating. Would not recommend it for the service and pasta.
For a Michelin starred restaurant it was honestly just ok. The service really is next level. Shout out to Shakira for her cute humor while still being super professional. And the ambiance was lovely. But honestly the food was just....meh. They encourage family style but the portions are super small. Nothing on the menu left me craving it again or wowed me. And the cocktail menu was lame. I got the $35 espresso martini and it was totally not worth it. Meteora, while more expensive, is way more unique and exceptionally high end. And Osteria La Buca has way better pasta that's handmade. Not sure if the pasta at Mozza is handmade but it didn't taste like it. Probably won't go back. For the price point there's plenty of better places.
Loved our overall experience, actually reserved a table for our next and last last night in LA and pre-purchased and asked them to decant our wine 5 hours prior to our dining reservation. Thank you Osteria Mozza
The service was great. The ambience was great. The pasta was amazing. The only thing I thought was just ok was the 24 oz. Porcini-Rubbed Bone-in Ribeye finished with 25yrs Aceto Balsamico. Not sure if it was the sauce but the steak was just ok but for the price I was anticipating the taste and quality to be like that of Chi Spacca next door. Overall the meal was great I just had high expectations.
The food was amazing and the drinks were good but I guessing my when my girlfriend filled out the check, I always give her my card and ask her to do it, she didn't tip well enough or something so even though they had some open tables they asked us to leave for newer guest even enough we were seated at the bar and ordering drinks while chatting with the couple next to us. So minus that part it was amazing.
We had a great experience! The food was amazing and everyone was super friendly, and my friend whose birthday we were celebrating felt very appreciated. Would absolutely go again!
This time we didn't have a good experience: one of the dishes was so spicy that it was impossible to eat, and the waiter only made jokes, not offering to replace the dish. But what bothered us most was the rude way the waiter overfilled big glasses with water, even when the glass was still full and the dinner was almost over, without us having asked for a new bottle. Such a rude practice of charging for service should not exist in a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Consistently great going on 2 decades. They made our anniversary special and it was very much appreciated.
The food is remarkably delicious. Everything is prepared with great care and detail. Even the Parmesan grated on my pasta was next level. They use all the finest freshest ingredients and it shows. Ran into some issues on the wine choices. I wasn't interested in a $500 bottle of wine but the sommelier seemed lost on what to recommendation despite giving lots of information about what we like. Went with individual glasses instead which is probably the most economic because the pours are large.
From start to finish, this meal was spectacular. Thank you chef's and to the entire Mozza team for a flawless meal and impeccable service. I look forward to my next visit.
Good food with fresh ingredients and some innovative dishes. We ordered the $120 pasta with white truffle; it was tasty but not really worth the price. The desserts, on the other hand, were delicious! We had the gelato and sorbet. Our waitress was amazing — friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
I have never had a rare steak and I never knew how unbelievable a properly cooked rare steak could taste!
