Ate here pre-covid (4 years ago) and I still think about their goulash from time to time. Glad to see this place survived covid, I'm not normally one to leave yelp reviews, but this place is truly a local gem.

We've been going here for years - well before they moved to their current home at Lemon Poppy Cafe. The food has always been a treat - nourishing to the palate as well as simply feeling like home. The staff are wonderful, and the food they prepare is honest and refreshing, and portioned nicely. Happy to have them in the neighborhood, and hope they continue to shine a Romanian light on our neck of the woods for years to come.

Enjoyed a taste of home - I was born in Romania - and the taste of “mittitei” was great. So was the “savarina” Loved the sour cherry. Will be back to taste other impromptu culinary adventures and experiments.

We had dinner at the new Parsnip now at Lemon Poppy. Their new outdoor patio is amazing. We had the parsnip pozole, chicken schnitzel, and roasted eggplant taquitos and absolutely loved everything we had. Drink and cocktail menu is solid. It all tasted incredibly fresh and different from the flavors at other classic hip Los Angeles restaurants. The waitstaff was friendly and fast. Highly recommended.

I hadn't been to lemon poppy kitchen in probably six years and didn't know that they now serve dinner. They had an eclectic blend of Romanian and Mexican dishes, (only in LA!) and a nice cocktail and wine list. We ordered several small dishes... The potatoes were amazing, I wasn't able to try the rice ball because it had egg on it, but the reviews from the group were very positive, and the cauliflower steak was fantastic. Two of us ordered the stuffed pepper, and it was so good, my husband had the salmon and said it was delicious, and the fourth person in our group had the goulash in like a red wine sauce and said it was also great. The service was wonderful and it was just the low-key evening we were looking for. Given that we're right around the corner I will definitely go back.

A very delicious place! Hidden gem to say the least. All the food I had was wonderful. I do wonder if they use thickeners in the stew as my stomach was upset next day but my bad because of the gluten allergy. I enjoyed it and it was worth the pain... might even expense myself again it was so yummy. Lol. Our server was a very sweet gal and I could talk to her for hours. Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a brunch until 2pm she said! Loves it!!!

Delicious dinner + nice ambiance. Everything tasted super fresh and the food came out quickly. I thought the brussel sprouts were a tad bit too oily for me though.

This is a review of the Chicken Paprikash from the Parsnip Cafe part of this restaurant. So it turns out that the chicken used in this dish is an industrial formed, pressed together, small rectangular log of spent chicken.I've had this dish a few times. First at Parsnip's original location on York blvd, and a few days ago, from its current joint location at Lemon Poppy. The York Parsnip was so warm, friendly oozing of home cooked food. The chicken in this dish was always bone dry, like it had given everything into some broth, then made it into this dish. I had assumed it gave its all into THIS dish, and maybe this is just their style of cooking. The rest of the flavors are very good. Plus the polenta is good.Fast forward to a couple days ago when I ordered this to go. There was a full unmashed rectangular log of chicken in it. I should have taken a pic. But I just thought it was very odd, and it never crossed my mind that they didn't use fresh chicken. Then I realized, yes indeed, that log is an industrial-pressed together log of spent chicken. The menu says chicken thighs. No fresh chicken thigh ever looked like this. This log, when you press on it, mashes into small pretty uniform sticks of dry chicken. The kitchen just missed smashing this log before serving it.This is completely insulting. They think so little of their customers that they would do this, use industrial unwanted chicken instead of fresh chicken. And charge $18 for it! This makes me sad, but mostly, it's truly insulting. When I arrived to pick up my order which I had paid for online, the young women up front made me wait forever, while she was doing - something. I can't tell why she was so frazzled. She was just staring at a dish that should probably have been brought out to one of the few diners there. Then a young man who had been sweeping and generally cleaning came to help me. He hadn't washed his hands, but I didn't what else he was going to do after helping me with my pick up order. Well, it turns out my order was already packaged and sitting on a ledge near the door, getting colder by every minute that the frazzled women who had no capacity to multi-task, kept me waiting.

Cannot say enough about how delicious the food is here - unpretentious, high quality, and satisfying - suggestion to add the name to the sign so folks know you're there ! Indoor and outdoor seating - nice casual service

Hands down on of my favorite spots in East LA. Perfect for rainy day takeout. So hearty, so good, and you can tell it's made with a lot of passion and love.

Easily the tastiest dinner I've eaten in the 90065 zip code.At first we were confused with the name "Lemon Poppy," but we called in and were told that it's Parsnip in the evening. I had the chicken paprikas. My BF had the schnitzel. Both were scrumptious. Excellent service too. Great music and ambiance.
