This was my second visit to this restaurant. We had a reservation for 8:30 for a party of 8 but ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes to get seated. It took 15 minutes for our second round of drinks to arrive, and they came out after the main course. When I requested not to be charged for the delayed drink, a very rude waiter informed me that if I touched it, I would be charged. Reflecting on my second visit, I can say I was very unhappy and will not be returning to this place. The food is not bad; however, the service is extremely poor.

What a great place! Service, food, and ambience all get five stars from me! Tonight we had veal with Porcini, penne ala vodka, spaghetti with cognac, and scampi algliata. (Forgive my lousy Italian) They were all great. I love the bread they serve with the meals. Tiramisu for dessert was awesome. Such a warm and friendly place.

Early New Year's Eve dinner. My husband and I shared a salad and entry and each had a glass of wine. Bill was over $200 for a mediocre meal (short rib special that was tough and not particularly flavorful.). Service was good! Have not been there in years and will not be returning soon. Our dinner companions really enjoyed their meals so maybe the problem is what we ordered.

I was not impressed with the food here. Tried two different pastas and while the portions were big, they lacked good flavor. The prosciutto and burrata were bland too. The cocktail was pretty good, which is why I gave 2 stars.

My kids loves their lasagna and pasta. The bread is so different to other Italian restaurants and unique. It tastes out of the world. The owner greets everyone so nicely and makes everyone feel home. Staff is very friendly and my kid is so impressed with one waitress and hugged

I can't believe I've never reviewed Pastina especially since it's our "local neighborhood Italian restaurant." It's upscale without being pretentious. It's run by a wonderful couple Frank and Nancy. Nancy in particular is a delight. She's the reason it's so important to support local businesses. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I love when the owners are on site and "in the weeds." They all have a great attention to detail and the service is superb. My water glass was always full (that's a great barometer in my book) and our servers were always checking on us, without being on top of us. I had my usual caesar salad and it was fantastic. The lettuce was cold and crisp and the dressing was very tasty without being overbearing. I also had my usual Spaghetti Gamberi (but I substitute linguini) and as usual, it was delicious. And, it was HOT! I go to so many restaurants that serve lukewarm dishes... you wonder how long they've been sitting back there before someone decies to serve it. Not here. My lovely and gorgeous companion had the Parmigano salad and the cheese was amazing. So fresh. She then had the Chicken Sorrentina which was hot, fresh, and very tasty. The tomato sauce is homemade and tastes it. And, don't forget the bread... wowsers. It comes out nice and hot and it's the same bread they use for the pizza crusts. They even have a full bar which is great and the drinks were excellent too. We usually find parking on the street and I think they may have a small lot behind the building, so just be prepared to hunt for a space. This is the kind of place that just feels comfortable and relaxing, has fantastic food, and is what you'd want every nice neighborhood to have.

Terrible service, terrible table, terrible food, and quite over-priced. I have never felt so unwelcome - literally from the minute we walked in and they couldn't find our rez, to the dis-interested waiter, to the owner/manager walking around and avoiding eye contact. Such a weird place. They clearly have regulars who love it there, but perhaps if you're not one of their regulars they don't give a damn. We will not be back.

Super awesome staff. Our first visit. Pride of ownership very evident. Very accommodating and waitstaff is so mature and helpful but never overbearing. The owner came to our table to ensure our satisfaction. Excellent food. Will go again!!
