Great coffee and French pastries. The pastries are as good as they look!
Had reservation no issues there. Placed order never received our appetizers was asked if we wanted them at the end of our meal. Food was nothing to rave about. About par with Panda was never asked if we wanted more water or Ice tea. Wasn't offered apology for the no appetizers or something in return. Was never asked if we wanted any desert. This was our first time there horrible impression, sorry but wont be going back.
The best authentic Chinese restaurant in downtown LA. My only negative comment for this particular trip would be, 1) extremely loud live band, and 2) bruised pork was very cold inside... However, overall positive experience as usual.
The food and the location is great. However, the prices are too expensive for serving small plates. I am confused whether they are a 5-star or 4-star restaurant because the dishes are pretty expensive considering the amount of food per dish. The Xiao Long Bao is pretty dry too, knowing that it should be a soup dumpling. The servers were famtastic, always kept on checking our table. We got seated by the windows and it looks really great at night.
Insanely poor service. My food was delivered to the wrong table. We asked multiple servers to find out what happened to my order, and we were completely ignored. It wasn't until our initial server came back (he disappeared for 40 minutes) that we were told what had happened. One server told us “the food will be served whenever it's ready to be served,” and just walked away. Seriously?!?!? In the end, the assistant manager came out and apologized. My food showed up 50 minutes after I ordered it. It was good, but at that point, the food of the other person at the table was cold... My food was delicious, and I know it was a mistake. But the brush off of the servers was ridiculous. We did not have to pay for our lunch, and we received a discount card to come back. Not sure I will though. Can't stand rude servers...
The female server was not very on point, but a fabulous male bartender took over for her and became our waiter and that changed everything. He was so on point! He checked on us, he made great drinks ( HH special, I think it was a Lychee martini?, it had the Lychee Gel cube in it and it was so good. )Ordered 4 between me and my friend. lol. Food was authentic. So authentic sometimes, it was a little unusual for my taste, but overall enjoyable and fun to try new things. You have to be into that sort of cuisine to want to come back, but the drinks were so good, we are likely to come again. Wish I could remember the bartenders name, he made it so warm and fun. If we had been dealing much more with the space cadet waitress, she kept not coming back, seemed dazed, like she was on something....this review would have been much different. The bar had a Xmas party kind of thing happening with a group , but there were open seats in the next room by the fake fireplace, the tv and the Christmas tree. We were overlooking the city with a beautiful view from the 4th floor. It was lovely.
Everything was good except the seating and air quality! I was sat by the kitchen. Lots of other tables available but for some reason they sat me by the kitchen. Maybe because I was alone and the tables by the kitchen are smaller. The kitchen fumes were bad enough that it bothered me. The kitchen needs better ventilation. Im surprised that the staff is not aware of this. Service was OK. Most of the staff seemed friendly and upbeat but my main waiter seemed quite dour. Food was great. It was a Black Friday 50% off day so the price was exceptional!
I Love This Place For A quick and Great Bite on A Budget!! Adore their Sandwiches and Macaroni Salad!! Yummy😘😘😘😘
The coffee is a bit stale in my taste but the whole deal of a coffee shop ambiance in here is remarkable, this is one of the most comfortable spots in the city.
