I love philz, been a philz customer for some time. My regular locations are in Glendale and South Pasadena. Staff has always been amazing in both locations, and I always get asked how I'd like my order. So, since this location is near my gym due to what i encounter service at philz it hasn't been this way here. I have had only one good encounter with staff. Today, a staff member with glasses just stared me down as I ordered charged me right away without asking my sweetness levels. I thought I was just assuming I did something wrong. When the people behind me got a completely hi, how would you like your drink etc. Love the coffee chain, but go to ideology or any other place. If the staff makes a judgemental face when you walk in cause I've seen with other customers. Just leave. It's not worth it'll just bitter your day if you are in a good mood.

I’ve visited the Hope DTLA location a few times, and I’ve found the drinks to be weak, watery and lacking sweetness. The staff doesn’t come across as very welcoming and are kinda rude.
Other Philz locations have a friendlier atmosphere and consistently serve stronger, sweeter drinks.

Queenie WTH are you doing? Every time I get my coffee from you it’s never what I ordered. Keep consistency! I spend hundred of dollars at Philz. Creamy coffee should not look black.

The best coffee in town indeed indeed indeed, I tried the Arabic one and the Turkish and they are beyond amazing. I tried their muffin. I think it’s overpriced for the size and it’s not really the best but coffee top-notch definitely the best coffee. I even appreciate how they give you milk options without additional charge like other places and you really taste real coffee. Basically I am in love.. I took one star off because if I only tried the coffee that would’ve been 5 stars but because I tried the muffin and it was small piece for that price. It was a bit of a joke and I ordered online so I didn’t know what to expect however coffee wise..the best!

Tuesday morning shift: being rude to customers for tips is not right. I mean I’m all for chasing a bag, but perhaps you should consider your impact on others… to be honest, I respect the work you do: you’re the first public interaction of the day for a lot of people. A lot of people allow their daily initial impressions to impact their ongoing perspective and experience. You guys could be some of the most influential people. I’m not trying to tell you how you should treat people, I just want you to consider a different truth than your own.

Stopped in for a sandwich. It was cold in the middle. The clerk said it was previously frozen, apologized and reheated it. It was still cool in the middle. Who thinks sandwiches should be microwaved from frozen solid? It won’t be hard not to step into a Philz again.
