Philz Coffee on Hillhurst is a spacious and relaxing location, bigger than others in Glendale and Downtown LA. The coffee is amazing, smooth, and made to your liking, with many good drink options. Classics like the Mint Mojito remain popular, while newer offerings like the Tiramisu and the Cold Brew Yuzu Twist are also really good, with the Yuzu Twist becoming a new favorite for some. Beyond coffee, the vegan breakfast sandwich and cheddar jalapeño bagel are surprisingly good, tasting better than competitors. The space is clean, with plentiful and cozy indoor seating, plentiful outlets, and fast WiFi, making it a place where people work on laptops with good study music.

Customer service is frequently top notch and super friendly, with baristas who remember names and orders, going above and beyond. However, service experiences can vary, with some visits finding it just fine and not very friendly. The main downside is parking; it's a busy area where street parking is tough to find. There is metered parking on Hillhurst and very limited free, time-limited spaces on side streets and a few in a back lot. Despite parking challenges and many competing coffee shops nearby, Philz has become a go-to spot for many due to its great drinks and atmosphere. Members also get a large coffee for the price of a medium.
