We had minced pork on rice, beef noodle soup, Dan Dan noodles, basil eggplant, pork belly bun, shaved ice and dou hua.
Overall, the food is pretty good. With some fine tunes, it can be closer to the yummy level of food in Taiwan, like some red beans in dessert are still hard, Dou Hua is too dry and needs some liquid or shaved ice to go with it, traditional shaved ice is too sweet though I like it much better than Korean style shaved ice, and brown rice is too hard. Service is good. Staff is nice. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Order at the counter, self service for water, extra bowls and utensils.
We live in the west side, and we will come back to try other stuff on the menu.

Food is solid. Shaved ice is almost as good as the ones in Hawaii but still tasty. Wait staff is super helpful w the menu

At this restaurant, you place your order at the counter and pay in advance, so it’s a good idea to have an idea of what you’d like before stepping up to order. The interior is fairly spacious with a nice sense of openness, making it comfortable to dine in without feeling crowded. Drinks such as water are self-serve, which adds to the casual atmosphere. Compared to a full-service restaurant, it feels much more approachable and easy to visit, even for someone dining alone.
The food itself was excellent flavorful, well-prepared, and served in portions that felt just right, not overly large. Since the cuisine is Chinese, it’s perfect for sharing with friends or family, allowing everyone to enjoy a variety of dishes together. During my visit, I tried several items including the mapo tofu, boiled dumplings, mixed noodles, and fried chicken. Every dish was delicious, full of flavor, and very satisfying.
There were also several types of rice to choose from, which made the meal feel customizable to personal taste. Although I wasn’t able to try dessert this time, the options looked very tempting, and I would love to save room for one on my next visit. The pricing felt quite reasonable given the quality and variety, making it a place I could easily see myself coming back to whenever I’m craving good Chinese food.

This restaurant has become a family favorite and we eat here every time we visit our college son. It never disappoints! We are always pleased with how quickly the food comes out after placing our orders & it’s always delicious. Some of our favorites are the Beef Roll, Panfried Pork Buns, Three Cup Chicken, and Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken. It’s really good to order several dishes & share, and the restaurant encourages this by having small plates available to use. We leave happy and full every time.

Tried Pine and Crane DTLA for the first time a few days back. Ordered takeout. Tried the Dan Dan Noodles and the taste/flavor was incredible! Can feel the quality! As a vegetarian, their menu definitely seems to have some good vegetarian options and I look forward to going back soon to dine-in, eating the Dan Dan Noodles again, trying other menu items, etc.

Just wanted to thank Gabriel and the amazing team at Pine and Crane DTLA for yesterday’s experience. We knew the food looked great in the photos, but we did not expect such kind and thoughtful service. We had a special request that was outside their usual protocols, yet they went out of their way to accommodate us for this occasion.
The food was truly fantastic, and we enjoyed the experience so much that we know we will be back. We have heard the breakfasts are incredible, so that is already on our list for the next visit.
Thank you to everyone for going above and beyond. These are the moments you do not anticipate, and they completely blow you away.
