Nancy Silverton's restaurants have been on my radar for a while now...and this one was everything I had hoped it would be.
We started with the meatballs and not only were they good but the accompanying sesame toast with herbed butter was one of the highlights of the entire meal. I think it's safe to say that Nancy and her team know dough!
The pizza was fantastic...and the crust was perfect - crisp with the right amount of chew. And the desserts...we had the Peanut Butter Straciatella Gelato Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding...both were good choices.
If Mozza has been on your list - like it was on mine...do yourself a favor and stop waiting.

I'll make this short. The only pizza that I've had thats was better is in Napoli. Take that to the bank. NY doesn't even come close.

Have been meaning to try this LA gem for years. Lived up to its reputation on all levels. Everything was delicious & exquisitely prepared. We shared Nancy's chopped salad with Napoletana and Funghi Misti pizzas. Was the perfect way to end our Thanksgiving weekend. We lucked out by just walking in; I'll make a reservation in the future. Service also fabulous!

Appetizers to pizza, everything was perfect and a pleasure to eat. The Japanese sweet potatoes were amazing! Service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. Four of us shared the meatballs, sweet potatoes, burrata and 2 pizzas. Plenty for all and highly recommend you visit Pizzeria Mozza.

My first visit to Mozza Pizzeria was amazing! Not only were the food and ambiance perfect, but the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The hostess Sabrina was extremely welcoming and she made our night!

Service was a little slow in the beginning. The food was delicious when it came and we were able to linger at our table.

The food was good, but the service really missed the mark. No one checked in to see how everything was, and at one point a server tried to box my pizza even though I still had half left. Felt rushed. We were never offered a second round of drinks, and no dessert menu was brought out even after I mentioned it was a birthday. Overall, great food but disappointing service.

⭐ 1 Star — Deeply Disappointing Experience

I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience at Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles was unacceptable — especially for a place that claims Michelin recognition.

We showed up hungry to an almost empty restaurant, ordered pizzas, an appetizer, a salad, and a few drinks. An hour later, we still had not received our pizzas.

What made it worse is that guests who arrived after us were served their pizzas before us, multiple tables in fact. We mentioned the issue to our waiter several times, yet nothing changed and no one offered an explanation or solution.

After waiting over an hour with no food coming, we finally gave up and left — hungry. And despite never receiving our pizzas, we were still charged for the appetizer, salad, and drinks.

For a restaurant with Michelin recognition, this level of service is unacceptable. They should be stripped of that status until they can deliver basic hospitality and timely service.

Truly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in LA.

Pizzeria Mozza specializes in Neopolitan style pizza, but with a unique touch of having an extraordinarily thin crispy crust. Ambience is classy upscale Italian American, but since it's LA you don't have to dress up too fancy. Service was mostly friendly, oddly the hostess said we only had 75 minutes until she needed our 4 top table for an upcoming reservation...but by the time we were done eating 60 minutes later, the restaurant was 80% empty. I've never worked in a restaurant, so who knows. I ordered a club soda...the waiter brought back a small bottle of fever tree and a glass of ice. $5, yikes!

$25 Fungi Misti(Mushroom) Pizza...a cheesy blend of fontina, taleggio, & Parmigiano, and of course a generous spread of roasted mushrooms perfectly carmelized. The thin Neopolitan crust somehow magically supports all that goodness with barely a fold, tasty!

$24 Nancy's Chopped Salad...a massive mountain of fresh iceberg lettuce, radicchio, red onion, provolone, salami, pepperoncini, cherry tomatoes, ceci, dried oregano & oregano vinaigrette. It's huge! Enough for 2-3 normal people, or one vegetarian(minus the salami!).

I ate here for the first time recently and had a great experience. The service and the food were both excellent! The ingredients were fresh and perfectly cooked. The pizzas were very good and I especially like the dough. However, one of the pizzas had more soot on the bottom of the crust than I would have preferred, a little is okay. Other than that, it was a 5 Star experience.

Had high expectations. Let’s begin.
We started with prosciutto & pear appetizer .. no. I almost spit it out but I don’t wanna be rude. I let my boyfriend eat the rest. Olive oil was nice. 1/5
One hour later… for two pizzas. Flavors and ingredient pairing was great. Enjoyed the thinness of the pizza. However crust should be delicious and good to eat. Bread did not have much flavor. Very bland. 3/5
Ending with dessert. Cannolis had pistachio ? Why? Focus on the flavor of the actual cream which didn’t have much taste. Pretty plating. They made it look good. 1/5
Overall this place is so overpriced … nothing special . If you can’t perfect the basics like bread and cream what are they doing? My bf and I go out often and try new places. We are used to splurging. However, this place overpricing pizza and throwing some pistachios on a cannoli? If you want a pretty environment and don’t care about pizza then go here.
