This review is based solely on the service. Hopefully this review will enact change. Let me preface this by stating our server had one large party, our 3-party, and a two top. Three tables total, that's it. We had a 2:15pm reservation. We stood at the hostess stand for 20 minutes before being seated. The hostess informed us, "We're out of menus right now, do you want to wait here or be seated?" We had on heels. Why would we want to continue standing and we'd already been standing for 20 minutes with a reservation? Also, we can look up the menu on our phones. Sadly, the service went downhill from there.One of women in our party had to go find a server after we'd been sitting about 20-25 minutes with no one coming over to our table. We immediately ordered our entrees and bottomless mimosas and asked for water. When our server finally brought over our champagne for the mimosas, he did not have the juice to accompany the champs. We'd finished the bottle before he came back with the juice that goes with the mimosas. Yes, it took him 30 minutes to come back with the juice. We, again, asked for water because we still didn't have any. When our food came around an hour and 15 minutes later, we still had no water and no silverware. We were disgusted at that point. Even the food runner was blown away by the fact we didn't have silverware or water when he came out with the food. We kindly told our waiter that our service was not up to par. It's actually the worst service I've ever had in LA. He listened but it went in one ear and out the other. He did not care. When one of the ladies went to the restroom she saw him goofing off inside (we were on the patio). So, he wasn't not attending to his tables because he was slammed — he just didn't care.The GM came over and profusely apologized. He was nice and definitely has the personality for the hospitality industry. However, I don't think he went above & beyond to try to change our impression of the restaurant and win us back as customers. We didn't ask for anything at all. We genuinely want "our" establishments to do better. So, to do the bare minimum, a 15% comp, did not match the horrific service we had. Fifteen percent is basically tax in LA. And we still tipped. I'm disappointed all the way around. I hope management tightens up here. I would never return and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. The food was decent and hot, but certainly not good enough to overlook subpar service. Oh, and we never got any biscuits!

Great place it has changed a little. It feels more trendy and bar like. But the food is still great and the place still pretty much looks the same. More of a grow ups place not for little kids.
The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. We made a reservation and were running late and they moved it to accommodate us by 30 minutes. I’m definitely coming back whenever I’m in Cali.

I had my 59th Birthday here Sunday the 25 of Fe bruary. I can say the beat part of the meal was the Bottomless Mimosa. I wanted to support Black owned business and my birthday. plus it being black his month. Yet I was highly disappointed. I will never recommend nor visit this establishment again.

I would recommend it. They had 90s hip hop playing. It was a little louder than I like, but the sound of voice carried well enough for it not to be too big of a bother. Bottomless mimosas were an option with either orange or cran-pineapple. No complaints about the service. I had biscuits, pancakes, French toast, shrimp & grits. Biscuits were very good. Thick and flavorful. Pancakes were definitely buttermilk. They could've been more fluffy but we're worth it. French toast were tall and narrow. I found them too dry for my taste. But I think that's the style of the bread they use. The crust was not eggy at all...which relates to the texture of the finished item. Shrimp and grits was pretty good. I was satisfied. Overall I would recommend it and would return.

Dined here for brunch with friends. They have indoor and outdoor dining spaces. I appreciated that they had overhead heaters. The food was very flavorful and well cooked. The waiter was polite and attentive. I definitely will be revisiting.
Awesome neighborhood spot. The vegan crab cakes and vegan pizza were absolutely delicious. Drinks great too. Don't know why it took me so long to come here.

My southern roots appreciated most of the dishes, especially the cornbread and honey butter. I expected more of the gumbo, but it was still tasty. The cocktail selection was quite good, classics and house specialties. Our waitress was great, gave good suggestions and treated us well. We'll definitely go again.
