if you like authentic food in a lay back setting you won't be disappointed at the Pupuseria. The pupusas are tasty and filling. The mixed Ceviche is phenomenal with a perfect marrying of flavors. Top it off with a Belikin or one of the best Panty Rippers in town. All of this and excellent friendly service. They accept US or Belizean dollars but leave your credit card at home as it's a cash only establishment. Trust me you will keep going back!
They're sooooo good and they're not greasy like at restaurants

Family run feels like home but quite professional. Pupusas are a national dish for El Salvador and I won’t bother trying to explain, others reviews will likely do so. I can tell you, watch them being made fresh for you. I tried both pork and mixto…excellent. My ex is Salvadoran…these are as good as hers!
This place is amazing! I visited three times on my weeklong vacation. The stew chicken is great for the price. The Pupusas are to die, for we tried almost all of them, but the mixed pupusa is the best. Not to mention, the owners awesome. And bring your cash, no cards. Nobody seem to mind since the Pupusas were amazing. Don’t sleep on this place.
We stopped by Papuseria Salvadoreno for lunch on a Sunday afternoon (it was Christmas Eve!). The place wasn't that crowded, but it was the middle of the afternoon on Christmas Eve! Our waiter (one of the owners) let us know right away that they would be closing early for the holiday, which was fine with us because we were really there to try the papusas. We enjoy trying foods from different cultures, and we must say that papusas are pretty spectacular! It's a native dish from El Salvador, and looks much like a pancake, and in fact they are often served in a stack, like pancakes. We tried a couple of the "mixed" papusas, a combo of meats inside. It was delicious, and the sauce (a thin brown gravy) served on the side was amazing. We also order a lobster quesadilla to save for later. It was darn good too! The house margarita was quite tasty! It was so wonderful to chat with the owner about his home country, the amazing turnaround the country has experienced, and just chatting about the El Salvador culture in general. An amazing family run place, and the food is terrific! We'll be back! Highly recommend Papuseria Salvadireno in San Pedro!
We ate here multiple times. Very affordable food and drinks (our cheapest stop on the island). Service was superb and food delicious. Recommend it above all other places if you are limited to one stop for island food.
Excellent mealThe Empanadas are delicious, I recommend them.

The family that runs it was great, very friendly. prices were good. It’s a place you will go back to again and again I know I will.
My favorite restaurant on the island! Food is amazing and such a bargain. The drinks are also great! Everyone that works there is so friendly and welcoming. I honestly couldn't recommend this place more!
You have to come here! The food is amazing and the pricing is even better! You can watch as they make pupusas by hand! The food is always hot and delicious. I’ve been here a few times and will keep coming back!

Great place! Friendly owners & fantastic food. Went back a second time during our stay on San Pedro.
Tasty, authentic, plenty of locals... We've been twice already and plan to go again before we leave. Such tasty pupusas and ceviche! You can't go wrong... And a bargain, given the handmade, quality product. Remember to bring cash. What a gem!
Was just introduced to Pupusas!!! Such a nice subtle, flavorful food! Cheesy warm treats! We tried 5 flavors! The Pork & Spinach were our favs! Staff were so genuine and kind! Loved that we got to hear about their story of how they have grown over the years! The most affordable dinner we’ve shared on the island! So good! A must visit! A truly family run establishment!!!
Our taxi driver suggested this restaurant during our trip and it did not disappoint. The pupusas were delicious! Definitely a must try while on the island.
I loved !!!
