A hidden gem: this small, un-flashy restaurant is in a weirdly-shaped traffic-island/mini-mall in the worst intersection in the world (Fairfax/Olympic/SanVicente), next to a Dunkin's and a liquor store. But the food is unreal: everything I've tried there is pitch-perfect, from the wide variety of dumplings to the salads, noodles, and fried foods. Our family includes two foodie adults, an increasingly adventurous 11-year-old, and a very unadventurous 4-year-old, and this is one of the few places that all four of us absolutely love. Particular favorites include the soup dumplings, potstickers, popcorn shrimp, chow mein, pork buns, and napa cabbage salad, but really everything is good. The noodles have that smoky wok hei flavor, the dumplings are perfectly balanced and textured, even the popcorn shrimp and chicken are expertly seasoned and fried. The space is basic but pleasant and calm. The owners are friendly and helpful, but in a subtle and quiet way, they're not going to hover over your table and make lots of small talk. They've been very patient with our younger kid, who can be kind of noisy. We love this place; it's much better than some of the flashier and more expensive places in the west 3rd st. area a few blocks north.

So so happy to have heard of this place (from Good Mythical Morning!) We were visiting LA for the weekend and finished our trip at dinner at Qi. We got the Dan Dan noodles and pork bao and both were excellent.

Our group had just attended an event at the Academy Museum and were famished. We walked a couple of blocks over to Qi Steam Kitchen. Luckily, they were able to combine two tables for us to fit our group of eight together.
Everything looked good on the menu so we decided to order several items to share and get a taste of everything. We doubled up on some orders so that everyone could get at least their own piece. We got:
* 2x Pork Xiao Long Baos ($14.85 each),
* Shrimp and Pork Siu Mai ($15.25),
* Crystal Shrimp Dumplings ($15.25),
* 2x Scallion Pancake ($8.45 each),
* Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken ($14.45),
* Stir-Fried Gai Lan ($13.25),
* Spicy Dan Noodle ($14.99),
* Red Bean Paste Sesame Balls ($9.25),
* Pan-Fried Pork Baos ($14.55),
* Bowl of Steamed Rice ($2.50),
* Egg Fried Rice with chicken ($15.49),
* 2x Sesame Paste Baos ($7.55 each).
A can of soda is $2.99 and they had ginger ale and Ramune for $4.99 each. They were also out of coffee, thai tea, and milk tea when we were there (maybe an hour before closing), which was disappointing as most of us wanted some sugary caffeinated drinks. Food was delicious though! What we had was more than enough for the eight of us!
There is a small plaza parking lot that I believe is free, but it was pretty dark once we walked over and I was focused on food, so I couldn't really tell if there were enough spaces. Looks like there might be some street parking, though there was quite a bit of construction on the streets going on. Good option for a yummy meal if you are nearby!

We stopped here for lunch and the food did not disappoint! The bbq pork belly buns, pan fried pork bao and fried rice dishes were delicious, great portion sizes and cooked fresh to order. Excellent and quick service as well.

A great hidden spot for dumplings and traditional Chinese dishes. The service was a little strange but not at all bad. The young lady running the place was by herself and taking care of her little toddler son. We didn’t mind since it wasn’t impacting our food experience. And the food was very good. We ordered pork dumplings along with two minced pork bowls and cucumber salad. We enjoyed every bite. The prices were a little high but for LA it was reasonable.

Great food! Casual, pleasant atmosphere
This is a nice little restaurant that is very affordable for two or four people.
Proportion and servings are medium to large.
Depending on how much you order and how big or small your stomach is.
This may not be din Tai Fung but it's it's a little brother and it is up to par.
I was very satisfied with my meal I do plan to come back for a regular visit.
Steam soup dumplings were also their signature mark as well as their bao buns.
They give you options for soup, noodles, vegetable servings, choice of drinks and desserts.
Please pay this wonderful little restaurant to visit.
Best dumplings I’ve ever had!
