I have eaten at every restaurant in level 8. As usual the food here was pretty good, but staff is rude and apathetic from beginning to end which seems to be a trend at all level 8 restaurants (maison kasai excluded). I can only assume that the staff’s treatment of guests is a reflection of how they are treated by management bc I don’t know how else so many miserable people ended up working at a high end restaurant. For the same price you can have dinner at Spago and Wolfgang Puck himself will literally come to your table and personally thank you for eating at the restaurant. Do better Level 8.

We enjoyed the tasty cocktails and wonderful vegetarian dishes cooked on the open grill. Perfection!!

Food was decent. Just really overpriced and the beer as well. They don't even give you a full sized drink. The ambiance is nice but getting up there is a little annoying as it's in a hotel basically.

Choose this restaurant based on their menu on their website. When we arrived a different menu was given to us. The server stated the menu on the website was from their opening 10 months ago. You guys should really update your website.
Service was very slow. Took 20 minutes to get one drink. The server did not ask us if we wanted refills on our cocktails. Missed opportunity's for alcohol sales. Also the server shouldn’t be serving half the restaurant.
I was grossed out by the expeditor touching the food on plated meals with his bare hands after literally touching everything in the restaurant.

Located at the Level 8 of the Moxy hotel in DTLA, Que Barbaro has a fancy art Deco and modern style. You can sit at the tables or at the bar for a chef experience, watching the chef grilling in front of you. It offers South American flavors. Chimichurri, plantains, alioli.. paired with great wooden-grilled seafood or meat. The meat is tender, cooked medium-rare at it should be served, accompanied by salt flakes, bread grains and chimichurri obviously! The prawns are tasteful, spicy and sweet. The empanadas are made with a delicious, crunchy and sweet dough and the leche the tigre is an explosion of taste and heat. The chimichurri is very sour and has a pungent flavour, it could easily overpower the other flavors. There is an excessive amount of garlic in the dishes which leaves a bit too much of aftertaste. Overall is a good experience. The staff is staff, doesn't leave a mark. The prices are definitely excessive compared to similar spots.
Vegetarian options: There are just appetizers and sides for vegetarian options.

Went here for a friends “yay you quit your job” party and we’re all big foodies so I was excited. But the food, unfortunately, was a bit of a letdown. The empanadas were dry and not very flavorful, the prawns were grilled to death, the steak was also overcooked. The oyster mushrooms were amazing- probably the best thing we ate. The ambiance was nice, ambient sooo warm - we were all dressed up really nice and all sweating. The service was great. Our waiter was kind, helpful, and attentive.
Overall, I wouldn’t come back. The food was OK but too expensive for what it was, and the atmosphere was nice but not enough to get me to go back downtown for.

Wanted to try level 8 out and if didn't disappoint. Que barbaro food was delicious, the restaurant is small but they make good use of the space. The ceviche (leche del tigre) was delicious though they didn't offer enough plantain chips (ask for extra) was delicious and had a nice spice to it. Also had the mushrooms, salmon, branzino, Brussels and broccoli. The Brussels were the least pleasant, they were undercooked but flavorful. Drinks were very good and service was great. Went to the club, pool bar, and speakeasy after and it was a great night. Everything in one place makes it an easy night out and something for everyone. Highly recommend for a good time.
Went on a Thursday and it was pretty quiet in most venues (not dead but def not busy). I'm sure weekends could be crazy moving around to all the venues but Thursday was perfect for a first time to check everything out

I'm not saying it was bad but I was expecting more. The food and drinks were not good enough for me. The waiter was very nice and the service was great but the food as it was disappointing.
This place is a must see! Feels like a dream! Never experienced this concept. Trust me! Just try. 10 star.

Food was absolutely outstanding and the ambience is top notch. Show up hungry, but not too hungry... the kitchen is very small and the wait for main entrees is longer than typical. The food, however, is well worth the wait and will leave you satisfied with your dining choice. Will definitely book again.
Atmosphere is amazing in a small restaurant surrounding the bar. Drinks are pretty good for a boutique themed restaurant. Food was disappointing for the high end price. This was the fastest restaurant on the 8th floor of the hotel with all the other restaurants being an hour plus. My suggestion is you come here for a drink and to take in the cool decor. Drinks are 20$. For 40$ entrees no sides included Maestro's is right around the corner. Nobu also cooks a better fish if you want seafood. The podium girl downstairs said the 8th floor Taco Truck (permanent structure) is the fastest option if we are hungry and looking back, that probably would have been a better option.

My partner and I arrived around 6 in the afternoon and they did not want to give us service supposedly because everything was full but when we went up to look at the place there was enough space to enter and eat it seems more like they have a preference for a certain type of clothing, they should specify how You have to be dressed to enter too. I didn't like that one of the hostesses at the entrance (a skinny blonde) looked at me in a very ugly way from top to bottom like a racist or elitist.
