Do you know how bad you got to be to get one star…
Food was so bad that I thought it was a ghost kitchen on grubhub!
Sushi crap, ramen, crap, rice bowl (CAME AS QUINOA BOWL) crap, gyoza never came but I assume it’s also crap.
This place blows and I’m beyond disappointed.
Do yourself a favor and don’t eat here.

Great food, great prices
Trust me when I tell you this was REALLY good, the classic Tonkotsu is always my go to and theirs is just SO good, I loved it and their broccolini was a solid plus 🤩 I only wish they would add a little more meat (pork option bc the chicken one was just perfect 👌)

Come for the pretty good ramen, not for the non-existent service (though the staff is quite friendly on the rare occasions you happen to see them).

After visiting Universal Studios, we went to see our friend in LA and we had lunch here before we travel to OC. This little restaurant is quite nice, hiding on a busy street, there's only parking on the streets or a paid public parking in the back which was a little difficult to use credit card to pay but after many tries and we did it.
It was a hot day and the AC in this restaurant was good enough for us to have a nice lunch.
The service was extremely attentive and pleasant. There are quite a few Japanese dishes that we could enjoy. Especially Ramen of all types. It's a little salty for my taste but quite delicious.
I had the spicy tuna rice bowl which is quite filling and tasty with salad. I finished the whole thing.
We ordered some appetizers which came out quite amazing. Spicy tuna on crispy rice cake.
Our friend ordered her favorite spicy tuna rolls which she finished all.
My kids had the tonkatsu chicken and potbelly bowls that they really enjoyed all LOL.
The desert was so good that we ordered 2.
The prices are so inexpensive here, the food is great and the service is excellent. We will come here next time again when we're in Highland Park.

My daughter and I got the lunch special with edemame, a bowl, a ramen and added the sesame mochi with red bean and oh was it good. We've never had the red bean before and that was new but oh the ramen was soooo good. And the rice bowl was so bomb. Waiter was so nice. Gave us water in plastic cups to take on the go because it is really hot. A/c was blasting too. Definitely planning to bring my sister, niece and nephew here next time.

Let me start with this FIVE STARS TO CHRIS. He is an excellent server with amazing customer service skills. He gave me helpful advice in what to add to my Ramen, that was a game changer. He treated me like family even though it was the first time I was there. I felt so happy with the food and his service that day that I tipped him $10 with my card. After that experience and new flavors added, I wanted to go back and experience the same thing. However, this time there was a young woman serving. When I asked for the amazing Black oil and garlic, she brought me just the black oil, no garlic. I then asked for the garlic and she first said there was no garlic paste, and that was it. I then asked for fresh diced garlic, she said oh! That’s going to be $1.75 more… I said, ok… she then brought me a HUGE portion of garlic on a small dish. I told her, that I didn’t want that much garlic. Only a few pinches. I mentioned that Chris has got me into this new flavor but she said, on no he is very helpful but we change for that. She then started talking in spanish about how Chris make her look bad because he gives things away. TO BE HONEST, Chris made me feel like home, expanded my pallet in food introducing me to a new flavor i didn’t know existed and made me want to come for more. The second time, i felt like I was just a wallet not a patron or a guest. I write because sometimes jealousy in the work place is not healthy and the customers notice. By the way, this time, they did charge me the extra ingredients , which i was not waiting to be free and I didn’t feel like giving more than a dollar as a tip.
The moral of the story, treat people like family and you’ll naturally be rewarded. Give off bad vibes or be stingy and you’ll loose customers.
Food is great, that’s the only reason I gave a 3 Star review.
Cheers!

While the food here is pretty good, if I’m spending ~$20 on a single dish, I expect to be served with reusable dishes. The vibe given off by serving customers with cheap disposable plastic cups when they’re sitting down to eat in a restaurant is not pleasant. I would never take someone here because of that.
Love this place. Great food, great prices and a great location. I really enjoy the sushi here as well as the ramen. I have never been disappointed. Highly recommend!

Some friends and I went on rainy ramen day. I enjoyed the lunch special, where I got to try a couple different items. It was a decent portion. The ramen was good, but the chicken karaage wasn't crispy and the avocado was a little overripe. I'll blame it on the rainy day and come back when it's not raining in LA! :

Decent ramen with great service. I got the Blazing Spicy ramen which is not exactly spicy. You can ask for a milder option. The shoyu is pretty good too. The place is pretty small with outdoor seating.
