This was our first visit to Rao's. We came on a recommendation for a friends birthday. It was a perfect evening! The staff was on point - super friendly. They sat us on the back patio which was awesome. We (of course) had the meatballs and they were incredible! The Parmesan crisps served when we sat down were so good! We all loved our meals - veal parm, pasta carbonara, pasta oilo and the pear/fennel salad to start was delish! The highlight of the night was meeting/chatting with Johnny Roastbeef. He made the night magical and so much fun with his stories of how the brand became so popular and telling us about the other restaurant locations in Harlem and FL. All in all 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!

I have been going to Raos since opening day, continues being one of my top 3 restaurants in LA. Always welcoming, consistent, and it's the best Penne alla Vodka in LA.

A classic spot. Love everyone who works here. You sometimes see the celebrities on the wall dining in. Great martini!

We've been regulars for years. The food is exceptional. I love the meatballs, and the veal Parmesan and the veal marsala and so many other dishes! The waiters are all fantastic. The restaurant has such an amazing cozy vibe! It's always so much fun to see Johnny Roast Beef! And an added bonus as they make a terrific martini and they don't skimp on the alcohol like so many other restaurants do.

I finally made a reservation for Rao's. We had a great dinner last night and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I wish I hadn't waited so many years to dine there. We plan to return often. Having a meal at their NY location has been a longtime goal. Hopefully I will get in there someday.

Great food and service. A little loud but I’m sure that’s part of its charm.

Wow, has this place gone down hill insofar as the quality of the food! I ordered the eggplant parmesan, which I needed a steak knife to cut through, it was so tough. Rao's frozen version far surpasses what was served to me, and for the price I paid for this piece of leather smothered in marinara, I could buy two of the frozen versions. And, as the old joke goes, such terrible food and such small portions! The glass of barolo I ordered tasted as though it was poured from a bottle that was opened months ago. A glass of vinegar would have been more palatable. They did take half of the eggplant off of our bill, but they should be embarrassed to try to pass off this heated and re-heated hockey puck as edible. The service is always stellar, and the ambience is always lively with entertaining people watching, but with the exception of the bread, the food and wine were subpar, at best. I may be back for a cocktail, but definitely not for dinner at the prices they charge.

I think the face on the first photo says it all!
We came to celebrate and celebrate we did.
We loved the food, service and the ambiance.

We started out with a house salad and a mozzarella. We also had penne alla vodka, rigatoni and snapper. Hearty servings and it was all delicious. We finished it off with a peanut butter pie.

My boyfriend asked to see a specific photo and the manager knew where it was right away so he could snap a photo with it.

Highly recommend going!

Last week's dinner at Rao's Hollywood was so good I forgot to post. The veal chop I had was to die for. It was easily one of the best veal chops I've ever had, and I've had veal all over the country. It had the perfect amount of kick from the Italian peppers and was thick and juicy.

I also had a lovely, light, refreshing, cool seafood salad with a massive lobster claw atop the crab and other seafood.

The veal parmesan was a huge portion and presented beautifully. It was tasty, but the veal chop outshined it easily.

To finish off, an in-house made cheesecake that was the perfect finish to a delightful meal.

Service was friendly and prompt, and the inside atmosphere is cozy and intimate. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more veal dishes!
