I had an amazing experience here! Stopped by for a lunch got a happy hour deal! Food was so amazing! Me and my Husband had to come back and try it again lol

Food was amazing, but the service was disappointing. Even though we had reservations, we had to wait a long time outside for the hostess to seat us, while other guests (white patrons) who arrived later were immediately offered a table—even those who were just browsing the menu outside. Once seated, it also took quite a while for our server to take our order, whereas another nearby table (white patrons) received attention right away. I truly hope this was just an off day and not a recurring issue, because the food was genuinely worth it!

Rappahannock Oyster Bar is located at ROW DTLA in Los Angeles. It’s a Latin-Mexican style seafood restaurant in a great spot where you can enjoy the unique architecture of ROW while dining.

They offered three types of oysters during my visit, and the guest oysters from Seattle were especially fresh and delicious. While there isn’t a special dozen deal, oysters are reasonably priced at about $3.50–$4 each, making it easy to enjoy a few at a time.

I also tried the ceviche — it was a little on the salty side, but the chewy and fresh texture was very enjoyable.

Overall, a nice place for seafood lovers in downtown LA.

My opinion is that all the 3 types of oyster we were served had a slimy, gray, and frankly fishy liquor as opposed to the briny consistency you find when opening a fresh oyster.

I'll be back for more lobster 🦞 rolls. My husband loves oysters. I unfortunately, have developed a food intolerance to them, but enjoy watching him eat them.

Rappahannock Oyster Bar is our go-to place when we want a simple, but elegant meal...especially fresh, fresh oysters and a balanced salad. Prices are reasonable for fresh, high quality oysters and they've never disappointed. The ‘always available', rappahannocks are smooth and creamy and this last visit we had some Vancouver's that were sublime.

Great service so good that I’m leaving a review before I even get my food. Great service was provided by two Hispanic ladies I’ll update this after having the food

Update Caesar salad was different but really good. Taste like a great home made Caesar salad for sure

Calamari was prolly some of the worst I’ve ever had

Steak frites were really good and highly recommend

Overall great dining experience and highly recommend to anyone who chooses this

Ambience and service were both very nice, but the Seafood Gumbo was not really a gumbo, and at $40 was seriously overpriced. Grilled oysters had a nice flavor, but were incredibly small, so again it felt like very little bang for my buck. My wife's steak frites was the best thing we ordered. A good cut of meat, nicely grilled and topped with an interestingly ginger-forward chimichurri sauce. Overall, I feel no pull to return.

I had An unfortunate experience at this oyter bar two days ago. The “fresh oysters” me and my table ordered were served with cloudy liquid and a slight yellow color. Extremely questionable but we did not make a deal of it. Once I waved down my server he explained that they were fresh as they can be. But as I decide to use the restroom, I walk by the oyster bar.. which is full of Flies! Flies where laying straight on all the oysters and no one had been taking any measures to protect the produce. When speaking to the manager he blamed it on a neighboring business. Which doesn’t solve the problem in keeping fresh produce, safe for customers to consume. Working in the industry for nearly 20 years, it’s sad to see businesses care less for the produce and their guests. I will be back and hoping they have made changes into their food handling practices.

Amazing food! Not just oysters! Great cocktails! Superb service! Excellent ambiance! Parking is validated for the adjacent parking structure.

I thoroughly enjoyed the steak aguachile! One of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had. The steak is thin sliced and marinated in lime juice. It’s not terribly spicy so I loved it! Superbly delicious!

The lobster rolls are pretty good too and the raw oysters are good as well.

Yummy beignets!

Their cocktails are great and averagely priced. I had a mezcal mule.

Service is fast, friendly and cool!

I loved the lively ambiance! They played great rock and pop en español!

I don't know why this place would have brunch being that it's an oyster bar. But I don't eat oysters so maybe I just don't have a proper understanding of what's going on. But they have brunch and it's good from what I remember.

Went here to ask for a some ice because my friend bit her tongue and needed it to stop the profuse bleeding. The waitress there (black straight hair, looked like a manager/waitress) gave us a HUGE bag of ice. I felt bad for taking too much ice especially at an Oyster Bar, so I said it was okay, and thank you but just a small cup would be perfect but the OUT OF NO WHERE she started lashing out and saying “Just take it and go man !! We were trying to be nice and help you but you’re asking too much. Throw it out or something! ” in an extremely rude and disrespectful way. I understand if they were busy and wanted to refuse us, but it should’ve atleast been done in a polite manner because we were nothing but polite. PS the restaurant had like 2 customers and looked extremely empty! It costs nothing to be nice and respectful. I would expect a nicer restaurant to at least have better service than a waitress that starts lashing out at strangers over a simple favor.

Pretty average overall. Sadly oysters were not shucked well, found pieces of shell in most of them
