Lovely experience! Food was outstanding and delicious. Ambiance was amazing. My boyfriend really enjoyed his birthday dinner! We will definitely come back.
One of the best dinners we have had! We enjoyed the crab/avocado on toast, the gems salad, the onion tart, the peas/ pasta, the butternut squash ravioli, the duck, the halibut, and the crème Carmel. Everything was delicious! The onion tart was a little too much /too big—filling for a pre-entree serving. We wished we had also tasted the bread but we were very full!
Wonderful cocktails and an exceptional family-style menu. The Brussel sprouts and Kumamoto oysters are a must, as is the baguette. The coq au vin was very good but not sure it was up to the level as the rest of the food. All in all would recommend to any and all!
The wine list is too extensive and too pricey for me. Somm was helpful and my guests were very knowledgable. Found a good one but have never paid $340 for a bottle before. That's just me
Loved everything about this restaurant. The vibe, the food, the sommelier, the service. It is an upscale place perfect for special occasions. One of the best dinners we've had
The ambiance and service are exceptional. The food leans more toward delicate combinations of flavors and textures rather than bold tastes perhaps to strike a perfect balance. I recommend pairing simpler dishes with more intensely flavored ones for a well-rounded experience. The brunch and dinner menus are completely different, which adds a nice sense of variety and distinction. It was also great to be able to relax and have a conversation in a comfortably lively atmosphere.
We absolutely love our dining experience. The chef is chefs kiss 🤌🏾 Thank you! We look forward to our next dinner!
We had booked a table for the back room, but were offered to either wait 10 minutes for it or take an available table in the small front room. We should have waited, the front room table was chilly, under populated for some of the time, and we ended up feeling a bit abandoned. The maitresse d' had said; 'there is no difference between the tables' but I think despite this maybe being the case, the ambience of the back room is much better than in the smaller front room.
The food was fantastic, especially the tartare, rigatoni, and wild sea bass. Wow, even after all these years, Republique is still great. Prices are quite steep, but the food is incredible. And the wine list is great, even the by-the-glass list has some fun and interesting options. I love the option for a 1/2 glass so you can try multiple things or if you just want a small amount of wine. Service was impeccable, everyone from the servers to the bus staff and even the guys running valet... really amazing, professional, and kind at every turn. We asked to move tables as there was a distracting/loud table next to us, and they were so kind to help us out and allow us to move. They didn't have to accommodate, but they did. I should have booked for the communal tables up front and will make sure I do that next time. We sat in the back, and I just don't enjoy the ambiance there as much. It's closer to the kitchen and bathrooms, and just feels a little less special without the soaring ceiling in the front.
Wow! Blown away by the incredible service by anyone who came to our table. Our food was easily one of our favorites in LA. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious! Dover sole was wonderful! Venison was fantastic! Baguette and butter with pan drippings a must!
The food was unique and incredibly delicious. The complementary appetizers (mushroom soup and beignets) were delectable. The service was very attentive. It seemed that there were at least 5 people taking up the plates, filling the water, cleaning off the table. The highlight for us was the Brussel Sprouts salad, with roasted sprouts, applewood bacon, pecans, radicchio, apple cider vinegar. The portions seemed larger than the last time we were there. For 2 people, 5 courses is a bit too much. Next time I would skip the pasta course.
This is consistently one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. I've been eating here since its inception. I've never been disappointed.
This is a great special occasion restaurant! The food was delicious and all of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There are many unique dishes to try - something for everyone. We will definitely go back.
Great location, ambience, and definitely still a scene to be seen. Having said that, I came for the food and it does not disappoint. It's amazing which is no easy feat with such a busy kitchen and world class competitionin L.A., the appetizers are creative, thoughtful and well curated. The potato leek beignet, duck liver mousse tartlette, carrot ginger soup, tuna tartar ... beautifully presented. My main course was the Dover sole a la meunière expertly deboned and served table side with lemon and browned butter, simple sincere a classic. Beautiful and generous fish enough for a family of four - I ate it all! I was reminded this was the dish that inspired Julia Child upon arriving in France that set her on her culinary journey. The kitchen was very generous with sending out surprises, as was the sommelier. The wine list is well informed and worth exploring. Best of all is the staff, truly a remarkable, professional, and friendly team that worked very hard to ensure every aspecect of the dining experience was the best. Bref, on mange trés bien chez Republique, merci à tous!
