The meat is cheap,that why the price is so reasonable.... I purchased a porterhouse steak and grounded myself... For superb hamburgers..... But the meat was dry as cardboard after cooking..... And no I did not overcook it ! The meat was missing a consistent amount of blood......

My wife and I have been coming to at Superior Grocers for many years,we enjoy their because of the produces,the quality of their meat department and also have Mexican and Cental American products. Bakery is produced many of their pastrys and bollios I really enjoy a good warm bollio it's really good. We like go to different Superior Grocers in different locations including this one in Highland Park.

What a shame that they destroyed a beautiful Googie style mid-century modern building! This was listed by the Los Angeles Conservancy and the only reason why they were able to destroy it, is because I suspect they made a deal with the city council member. Of course I have NO proof of that but how else does a cool historic building get destroyed? And they had a cheap af architect... Craftsman commercial buildings didn't exist! Only homes and hotels. Now it's gone forever...

Don't buy cakes from the bakery. Poorly done.They didn't take stems of fruits in their tart. Parts seemed uncooked
I rarely shop here but when I do, I run in and out the store as fast as I could. Sometimes, they have fresh produces and meats. Just depends when you go. Parking is great. Service needs improvement. I speak and know a lot of Spanish from friends and classes.

Giving a new review after 5 years of coming to this neighborhood grocery store! Best produce and many exotic items that would be $$$$$ at Whole Foods. Their turkey carnitas at the deli is bombbbbbb (if you ask they'll give you a sample) and they still make the best tortillas, salsas and chips in-house. Sure you can't get everything you'd expect but they carry a lot of stuff you can't get at standard stores so it's a trade off!!

I've been to this store many times but today was just not a good day! There was hardly any parking. Food was nearly empty and store was packed. This review is not based on any of that. It is based on an employee who has a horrible attitude and is very rude! Her name is Diana, she likes to say many bad words and doesn't care who's around. She doesn't like anyone telling her what to do and customers don't matter to her. She needs to work in an area where there is less customer service. Management needs to really pay attention to how she speaks to others.
