Highly recommend Robata JINYA on 3rd Street! Great atmosphere, excellent service, and amazing food. My favorite dish is the tender beef tongue served on a hot stone — it literally melts in your mouth. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I’ve had positive experiences here in the past and the food is great. however, was here for happy hour today and service was disappointing. firstly, i think they forgot my hand rolls but tried to play it off, because my friend’s very similar hand roll order (placed 15 minutes after I ordered) arrived well in advance of mine. When I asked about the order, the server did not seem to remember what I had ordered.
Additionally, I asked how much it would cost to add a bowl of miso soup as it was not listed on the menu. the server told me she wasn’t sure but either $3 or $4. when the bill arrived, the soup was $6. I am not here to complain that the price is that high, I just wish that the accurate price had been properly communicated to me prior to charging for it. i don’t believe the server had malicious intentions, but I also don’t believe this is good practice and easily could have been avoided.

If you’re looking for a place that completely overdelivers on flavor, Robata Jinya on 3rd Street is the hidden gem you need to go to ASAP. From the second I walked in, the vibe was cozy, elevated, and buzzing with that perfect LA energy.
The sushi tacos? Straight-up game changers. Crispy shells packed with buttery fresh fish, layered with just the right kick of wasabi and tang. You’ll want to order two... then four more.
Then came the A5 Wagyu, seared to absolute perfection. Melt-in-your-mouth rich with that deep, savory umami you dream about. Worth every penny.
But the surprise standout? The Robata skewers — char-grilled and seasoned like they came straight out of Japan. From juicy chicken thigh with yuzu kosho to tender pork belly and even perfectly crisp veggies, every single skewer hit the mark.
Service was sharp, drinks were terrific, and I left already craving round two. Robata Jinya is that rare spot that nails quality, creativity, and consistency. Don’t sleep on it. @sushitraveler
