While affordability is a positive aspect, the quality of certain menu items falls short. Steamed vegetables are notably lacking in flavor and appeal. However, the meat selections offer a satisfactory dining experience. The macaroni salad, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired. Regrettably, the overall standard of the establishment has been on a decline in recent years. Culinary execution appears haphazard and excessively oily, failing to meet expectations. For a superior dining experience, Ono Hawaiian Grill is highly recommended as an alternative.

Affordable, good quality food in LA. Big fan of the friendly staff and quick service! I go here often with my friends and it's always a reliable staple

Came here about 7 years ago and I remember the food was really good. Decided to come back since I was in town. It was really bad! Not sure what happened if there's new owners, management. Food is definitely not up to the "Hawaiian" standards. I'm originally from Hawaii and I won't be coming back. I would not recommend this place if you're thinking local grindz. I ordered a combo plate, kalbi/chicken katsu. I got 1 piece of Kalbi and a very thin slice of chicken. $17 not worth it. Kalbi had no taste at all. I don't think they marinated or even put salt and pepper. Straight out of the fridge onto the grill . So very disappointing. Mac salad was bleh. As you can tell I was not happy with my experience. They need to change the name to just Rutt's cafe. Sorry but it's the truth.

Great catering service and very authentic Hawaiian food! We dined at the restaurant to test the food and it is ohana style casual. There were a few customers who seemed like regulars. We catered to the valley for a party and were very happy! Thank you Rutt's!

The food was "okay." The charsiu was dry. The kalbi was fatty, not enough meat & I was only given 1 kalbi with my combo plate. The Teri beef was meaty so needed to drown it in the teriyaki sauce. At least my kids liked their spam musubis. I'm giving a 2 because even though the food wasn't as good, the service was good.
