Salaya Plant-Based Kitchen Reviews
best Thai food I've ever had and I have lived in Thailand
Great vegan Thai food with plant based meats. The orange chicken is amazing...super crispy and sweet! I haven't had that dish since I became a vegetarian. Menu is very large and everything I've eaten there was sooooo good.
This is the best vegan Thai I’ve ever had. My boyfriend isn’t even vegan and he loves it!

Salaya Plant-Based Kitchen, simply known as Salaya, is a fully vegan restaurant located in East Hollywood's Thai Town district. It offers a wide range of delicious Asian dishes with an expansive menu that includes standout items such as burgers, sushi, dumplings, coconuts, and "crunchy chicken noodles." Customers have noted that some dishes may be spicier than expected, but the food is consistently praised for its amazing taste. The service is friendly, and while the restaurant can be understaffed at times, the atmosphere remains quiet and enjoyable.
Salaya features an array of options, including curries, ramen, rice dishes, salads, and small bites, making it an excellent choice for those following a plant-based lifestyle. Signature dishes like Thai Jerk Wings and various noodle dishes, including Crispy Chicken Noodles and Pad Thai, are highly recommended. The restaurant does not include rice with meals, and prices are on the higher side. For beverages, guests can choose from alcohol-free options like Thai Iced Tea, Ginger Brew, and Fresh Young Coconut.
Despite some minor drawbacks, Salaya's fun and affordable fully vegan approach has earned it praise, with customers highlighting dishes like the plant-based orange chicken, buffalo wings, and the must-try chow mein. The crispy garlic oil added to the white rice and the garlic green beans with pepper steak have also received enthusiastic reviews. Overall, Salaya is a well-loved spot for both solo diners and those looking to enjoy a meal with company.
