Disappointing experience. Not at all the same quality of Santo in CDMX. Cocktails tasted like margaritas you get at a dive bar. Rolls and nigiri were average… nothing extravagant like we expected. What made it worse was the service. Outside seating is crowded by people waiting to get into Seco, bumping into you. Server was not attentive. We had to get up ourselves and find a way to pay and get out. Super bummed, but glad we tried it and know to warn people expecting a similar experience to CDMX.

Excellent service & stunning japanese cuisine.
First of all, best thing that’s happened to Silverlake. Incredible food and just such a positive vibe. We love harmony, ask for her if you come. She walked us through the menu and guided us to order the best things ever.

The quality of the fish was very good. However, service was poor. My friend and I both ordered the ten piece nigiri set which included uni. Only after our food arrived were we informed that they were out of uni… We then had to select a substitute from the basic nigiri selection. We asked if we could substitute for a hand roll instead, but we were denied. Our server also interrupted our conversation multiple times asking about our substitute - it almost felt like she was pressuring us to make a decision. Very disappointed in the level of service. I enjoyed the food, but I will not be returning based on the poor service received.

Just had the coziest afternoon at Santo Silverlake the staff recommended a mystery novel that I couldn't put down and the chill vibe made it feel like I was reading in my own living room love this spot!
Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it's worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.

Santo was amazing !!! First, it's super intimate and very warm- not very big nor loud, mostly bar sitting. Next, the service is great our waitress was super friendly, polite & helpful - loved her and everyone else was great. Big team of perhaps 10+ people? Quite impressive! Onto our culinary adventure: we tried something from each section of the menu !! My personal favorites were the hamachi sashimi, dragon roll, yuzu salmon nigiri, and seared o'toro. I found the flavor very unique, a Japanese-Mexican fusion of bold smoky flavors and very fresh ingredients. We finished with the matcha crème brûlée which was quite interesting. In the heart of Silverlake, the neighborhood is lively. Highly recommend you try!!!

We ordered Uni on a Wednesday evening. Not sure if we got a bad batch but I couldn’t recommend. I typically love Uni but if you have ever smelt a porta potty that’s what this tasted like. Not totally sure what was going on, maybe it had gone bad? The toro was great and the yuzu shandy was also fantastic. Much more expensive than some other options near by on sunset.
