I ordered food by them many times for a large group, as well ate there several times, and I haven't found in LA any Kosher place with this type of cuisine, that every dish was so tasty and perfect, I think the Shnitzel and chicken soup were especially amazing.
Older gentleman there is just rude to everyone for no good reason, along with many other problems with the store.
The biggest rip off. It could be the best matzo ball soup in the world and I would not pay for it again. $7.95 for a small size of the soup and $14.95 for the “family size.” Both sizes only come with ONE matzo ball. The extra $7 gets you more broth. That’s it. How is a family supposed to split 1 ball?
When I dream of a brisket sandwich this sandwich is what I dream of!!! So delicious, you can taste every minute of the 18 hours that it was smoked! The staff is wonderful too, very helpful when ordering and preparing the sandwich to order. I can’t wait to try the pastrami next AMAZING!!!
I ordered food through the Schwartz’s Deli website but it never arrived. I called Schwartz’s Deli immediately and was told I had to call the third party ordering system they use, Toast, to resolve the issue. They said they could not help me since they had fulfilled the order and it was out of their hands. They then hung up on me. I called Toast and waited on hold for an hour, only for Toast to tell me that all issues have to be initiated and reported by the restaurant vendor. I called Schwartz’s Deli back with Toast on the phone as well and was put on an endless hold each time I called. It was obvious that they were avoiding speaking to me up until the time they closed. Then Toast told me that the only recourse I had was dispute the charge on my credit card, since they were unable to help me.
AVOID this Deli at all costs!
The food is very good, the only thing I would recommend to change is changing the oil from deep fryer more often
Please respond to the review once you changed the oil and I'll remove the review 🙂
Amazing smoked food and generous portions.
Used the kiosk, didn't realize I had ordered a half sandwich by the time it got to my table. I thought surely for $18 dollars I was getting a whole sandwich. All that aside, what do you do with the other half? Do you just wait for some poor sap to order a half hot pastrami on rye, give them my other half and pass it off as fresh? This all reads as a bad episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Hopefully I've rolled the credits on this deli and I'll never have to go back.
Got lunch and dinner to go while passing through here. The owner and kitchen staff were all very friendly and helpful. Got a BBQ pulled brisket sandwich and a Rueben sandwich. The meat portions were very generous and top notch. The sides (Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Israeli Salad) were all average but not bad. Would order here again if in town.
Oh man, this is what a deli is! May be one of the last real delis in the country. One of my new favorite kosher restaurants in the world. LOVE

matzah ball Soup had chicken bones in it. The chicken they used was all ligaments off the bone as well. When I brought it to the kids attention at the counter he had no solution to make it right. He just said sorry.if he had offered me a new bowl or a refund I might have been willing to try this place again, but I will not ever go there again after this experience. 35 bucks for a drink half a sandwich and a soup of bones and chicken ligaments
This self service approach may work for youngsters. It just pisses me off, and promotes laziness. This could have been a pleasant meal, the food was decent.
David was nice and helpful, behaved in a professional manner.
If you think your going get food like a NY deli Think again. Its good but NY is better
First off sure why this place doesn’t have five stars this place is a hidden gem the best food and the best service there is no where else in Los Angeles where you can get a kosher deli style sandwich that is actually kosher !
