I completely understand the three star reviews, because the chicken tikka Marcella lacked in zest, seasoning and thickness of the sauce, and it did not taste, authentic and homemade. The vegetables with the peas and carrots we're pretty much the same. I doubt they got the sauce out of a can ? but it didn't seem like it was something that was simmering over stove for hours and used an old school Indian recipe. The bottom line is I ordered for Delivery off of Uber Eats. The service from Uber was excellent because I got the food fast and it was very hot and the delivery person was very nice so that was not the problem. The main problem is that it LACKS FLAVOR and thickness of the sauce. With all the good Indian restaurants in Los Angeles, I doubt I will be ordering from this place again. I wish you luck Shades of Curry because your going need to improve or you won't last.

Edit: we THOUGHT we’d found our go-to Indian place. Unfortunately they take too many orders they cannot fulfill on time. 2-hour wait for delivery once is OK. Twice and it’s a problem. Our food was cold. Also the spice level is inconsistent. The Vindaloo was completely different the 2nd and 3rd time we ordered. They should cap the number of orders so they can provide adequate quality.Chicken vindaloo and lamb tikka masala were the best we’ve ever had outside of England. Samosas were great, garlic nan was great. We ordered via GrubHub and it was great

The death of Indian cuisine comes most frequently at the hands of the restaurant owners themselves. I don't know where to begin here. Perhaps its the inauthentic menu or the limp wristed pandering to a perceived western audience...more likely just a fundamental lack of good taste and business acumen. As an Indian born New York City-to-Cali transplant myself I have to say I've never seen something this incredibly ill-conceived in a while. Good job LA on being a race to the bottom. Places like this go away naturally but I just had to put the truth out there. Indian restaurant owners must be fearless in showcasing what they grew up with in the way it was done in the old country. Instead most are just scared. Such a lack of vision and pride. Oh also the food sucks.

Waste of time if you're trying to order online. They can't seem to be able to complete simple deliveries.

Came here because my friend was craving for indian food. We ordered lamb and samosa. The food was alright, but the waiting time was too long. My friend liked it but i didn't enjoy 100%.

Tasted great only the portions were tiny. Four pieces of cut-up chicken breast in a tikka masala in a giant container of sauce for the price and the fact that there are multiple better restaurants in the area, it's not worth it.

I don't understand the people who are saying the food here is good. This is the worst Indian food I've ever had (truly), and I waited for over an hour and a half for it to be delivered. I called the restaurant and they were completely unapologetic but I think this kind of wait time is normal for them.

I ordered simple foods: the veggie samosas, rice, and chicken tikka masala. The order arrived on time, the food was piping hot, the spice levels were perfect and full of flavor. The chicken was tender, not over done. It was some of the best I've had so far in Santa Monica.

I tried this place in the past with a friend and I am addicted since then. I love the awesome vibes and fresh food and beverages. Highly recommended.

First time having this place recently and I had a bad start. My colleague called and the gentlemen had a rude tone when we just asked if they were open. I decided to place the order on clorder? (the site that was linked to their yelp page offering $10 off a $40 order! But when it came to check out, my $10 off was not honored. Okay, cool, that's fine, its only $10 no biggie. However, the biggest disappointment was our order took almost 2 hours to get here. I called an hour after the order was confirmed and a gentlemen said the food just left, should be arriving in 20 mins. 45 mins past after the 1 hour mark, I kept checking.. about 1hr and 50 mins later, I got a call and the lady said she was outside. I mean I was HANGRY AT THIS POINT. I was ready to complain.. But the food was delicious! I would say the rice and naan (staples) need some work. Naan was really thick, I mean, thicker than a pita bread thickness. And rice wasn't moist, just seemed very dried out. Our meal were suppose to come with a dessert and that didn't come as well. But on the good note, chicken tikka, okra, 2 vegan dish (forgot because my colleague ate that) samosas and the onion fried fritter thing were amazing. I would definitely give this place a second chance but

This spot is my go to meal for lunch and dinner. Excellent service and the owner Martin is a gem , he will take care any of your special needs whether you are vegan or gluten free. And the chicken tikka masala is to die for, it's the best in Los Angeles.

Ordered chicken curry... maybe I have high standards for Indian food but this was probably the worst chicken curry I've had. It wasn't gross per se.... but it wasn't good. There was very little chicken in the chicken curry. Don't order expecting it to be your next go to Indian food place.
