Very good. Really amazing good considering the area is full of overpriced tourist places. This is a warm welcoming, friendly, family place.
Ordered the dragon roll and the spider crab roll, plus a spider crab starter
Food was delicious and served relatively quickly, which didn’t leave us starving for too long.
The staff were very friendly and kind as well and the atmosphere was very chill, and not too noisy in there

I was visiting and decided to try this place because it was close to my hotel and had decent reviews. The service was very friendly and attentive. My salmon sashimi was fresh and buttery. I ordered a special roll that was covered in mayo and eel sauce that wasn’t listed. The quality was good, I just don’t love sauces on my sushi. If you love classic rolls, miso soup and fresh sashimi this is a great spot!

10/10 best fresh fish ever! Better than Nobu. This place has fantastic fish quality. It’s going to become my new go-to. The yellowtail sashimi was next level. The albacore sashimi was also great. Highly recommend for anyone who values QUALITY fish and honestly very reasonably priced for this grade of fish.

My time at Shintaro with Marvin wasn’t just a meal—it was a revelation. Marvin isn’t just a sushi master; he’s a culinary poet with 20 years. His creativity knows no bounds, and his generosity? Unmatched. I shared my cravings, and he crafted plates of sushi and sashimi so daring, so exquisite…
One standout: Delicate yet thick buttery slices of toro and uni, cradled on a shiso leaf—a flavor explosion !
Ask for Marvin. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you forever. 🎐✨
My husband said the fish was very good and fresh. My noodles lacked flavor. I loved that they had green tea flavored mocha and ice cream. Service was a little slow, as waiter would disappear sometimes and in the end we wanted to ask for the check and he disappeared completely. Prices were regular Japanese food price $$ .

I've been coming here since I first moved to Los Angeles around 2015 and absolutely love it! Hannah is the best and she has smile that warms your soul. The food is amazing,, awesome lunch specials, and very unpretentious but pleasant atmosphere where I bring my dates.. Thank you Shintaro!

Came here on a Sunday evening at 8 o’clock and there was no wait. Service was great and the food was amazing. One of the guests ordered teriyaki chicken which was “just” okay. Definitely recommend ordering sushi instead.

Casual yet classy sushi place. We had a great server and ate as food was ready. We over ordered and ate too much, which I highly recommend! Yellowtail was awesome and the rolls were great 👍

Good food, but slightly pricey for what the food is and portion sizes. All sushi is now, though. I got the udon, eel don, and cooked salmon and asparagus roll. The udon was good, but not much different from the instant udon I purchase in bulk. The don was good, but $28, and the cooked salmon and asparagus roll was bland. Stick to the classic, traditional raw sushi and you’ll be fine.
