The food was very bland. Worst espresso of my life, but very good vibe though

i’ve been going to this place a lot over the last two years but i think the business side of this place is just determined to declare bankruptcy or something. they’re fond of making changes that make you vividly aware of how much you hate them.

covering the outlets,
over priced everything,
a hidden service charge,
too few tables (presumably a covid hold over?); all totally inhuman choices.

the major upside to this place was that you could do excellent people watching. it has been a mecca for well-dressed casual vibes in LA. and the space was set up to do great work. the culture was chill even if it sometimes felt like the establishment was nefarious.

now someone with extreme myopia has decided to turn it into a sit down restaurant. i sat for 2 hours eating lunch and trying to work while i observed upwards of 20 people who were disappointed, disturbed or disgusted. this set up is at once complicated and idiotic without much care for the existing customer base. at 2pm when it is usually pretty full, it was mostly cleared out except for the communal bar seating, which was packed. they have always had an issue with seating, as mentioned before, but mainly because they don’t have enough two tops. this set up fixes nothing: in fact, it only exacerbates the issue because now it feels awkward to share a table. & lemme tell you right now: if i wanted to go out for lunch there are so many better places in LA for that. whereas there were very few places that felt like a watering hole. y’all really beefed it, boys n girls: either you don’t know your customer or you don’t get her & don’t deserve her.

let me fix it for you:
- put more two top or one top tables
- stay open during wine drinking hours if you’re gonna serve wine (duh)
- change your wifi model to a receipt based, time restricted one where you can get buy something to get more wifi.
- have easier add ons that still have value: more tiny bakery items or little veggie cups spending $6 on a slice of cake during the ozempic era? are you awake?

the very amusing to see a business tank itself so completely. lol good luck, babes: i’m going to find another place to spend that money you were so worried about. hth xxxx

I only had a latte while working but the coffee was great! The space is large with indoor and outdoor seating but youll find you’ll need to share a table with someone because it does get busy and outlets arent readily available.

This cafe currently serves the best sandwiches in Los Angeles. Their coffee is also superb. It is highly recommended.

This place continues to let several animals (pets) into the establishment around food. As we know, animals, specifically pets, in restaurants are a health hazard due to the potential transmission of zoonotic diseases, parasites, and bacteria through contact, bodily fluids, and waste, which poses risks to human health, especially for vulnerable populations. The seem to not care which is disappointing as I work at a large company on the same street and no longer recommend it to co-workers.

This place is so insanely bad. I don’t get why it’s always so packed but the coffee tastes like sour water and the food is way overpriced for being so mediocre. They charged 2 dollars for “charred scallion” cream cheese that was just raw scallions in cream cheese. So my bagel with cream cheese was 7$ and they didn’t even spread the cream cheese. The bathrooms smelled so bad. I cannot believe how overhyped this place is. Go to a mom and pop coffee shop if you can. This place is awful. The people who work there did nothing wrong and the service was good. This is just about overpriced bad food and coffee.

If I can give this place zero stars, I would. One of the worst food experiences I’ve had. When I complained the manager said this is how they make it. Employees are rude as well, what terrible service and management.

The pastries and coffee were nice but there was no where to sit down and enjoy them because everyone there was taking up all the seating while working from their computer. It felt more like a shared workspace...
