Its been a long time establishment in the community catering to its devoted clientele, especially to its hispanic and LGBTQ community. As recently as last Friday night, the Silver Platter has prevailed in its effort to provide an outlet of entertainment and appreciation for the community that it supports.
They've upgraded their environment and at one time also provided valet parking, however, with the current stringent limited parking availability, it's been difficult to accommodate and support this historic bar; very much worth a visit though. With the support of those who know this bar well, they should be commended to continue to support a mainstay of L.A.
It's been a while since I posted the above review. It's January 31, 2026. The Silver Platter, subject to being evicted and demolished should definitely be relocated. Its historic value and undeniably a dive bar, provides an ambiance that is unique to its community. Those that can't appreciate the need and value of this establishment in serving the community are too quick to criticize its patrons and deficiencies. This place is a haven to many. It exists to enjoy a cold beer, enjoy the music, people watch and have some fun. We should do what we can to keep the Silver Platter thriving!
It is a cool place to stop by and have a quick beer. The 4 star is because they have a limited selection of beers and no draft beers ... I don't blame them for the parking situation because it's very close to DTLA and parking is scarce...
Awesome bar tenders by the way ...

Felt very othered here as the only two guys that walked in. Didn't know it was a lesbian only bar... Where I'm from, all gay bars are open to all sexes, genders, identities, races, etc.
We sat at the bar and never got served in spite of saying hello a few times as the bartender walked by. We were sat at the bar. Eventually it became kind of obvious they didn't wanna serve a couple guys...
unbelievable

This place stinks and very small not my thing lol too many men I’m lesbian :(
Very nice prixes
Hole in the wall bar with central american Latino ethnic flare! 21+Its community is friendly but definitely bites back, so just be wary of the drinks you can hold and do not act disorderly. It has a very small dance floor where people dance. There's table service or you can go straight to the bar.I'd suggest just enjoying a few beers and heading on home, as it can get a bit hectic after 12, but if you like a hot crowded room stick around. It's a very mom and pop bar and age ranges are definitely millennials and up+.(25+ Lol)In the weekends you have the choice to have a nice LA street dog right outside the bar and support la senora street vendors.Aside from that just enjoy yourselves when visiting, it's a party in there always!!???

Some of the reviews for this place are a little harsh. I was looking for a beer while waiting for a show at the Hayworth. Reviews almost caused me to not go,but curiosity got the better of me. They had a live band, and the dance area appeared jam packed. But there were seats at the bar and the bartender was nice, even to this gringo (Hispanol appears to be the rule) and Modelo's were $5. What's not to like?
