I have been eating at the original Silverlake Ramen for years!!!!! I was SO excited to have it delivered to me in DTLA only to be beyond disappointed. Firstly - the pork belly in my ramen - and the extra pork belly I ordered - NEVER ARRIVED! Huh? How does that happen?
I called - no one to answer phones to explain. I sent a message on the app - no response.
I drove down there to get it and there was ZERO customer service offered for the mistake or the time or the delay on my end.
And then I saw it - what was once a home made secret ramen place in Silverlake had become an automated take out delivery service. No wonder my meal was delivered goopy with the main ingredient missing!
Ugh. So sad. Maybe the original is still good - but NEVER going to what has become a chain restaurant again!

MY GO TO RAMEN SPOT WHEN IM IN LA!
The blaze is delicious, & the new spicy garlic edamame is my new favorite! Staff is always quick & efficient. The music is always a vibe & They have a new Happy Hour selection! I tried the Bar Bun Flights you can mix n match all 3 or get the same ones. The pork made in house dumplings are a close second on my favorite list, ultimately because I love the spicy mayo sauce the fried dumplings come with. yum! yum! See you guys soon

I'm always dreaming of their rice bowls, whether it's the pork belly or the chicken karaage. I sure enjoy the ramen, but definitely, my weak spot is the fried gyoza and the chicken karaage bowls. Honestly, I have tried everything at least one in how often I come here.
Vegetarian options: Ramen available, avocado roll, imposible bun, edamame.
Wheelchair accessibility: Open plan first floor.

Well I guess SHRINKFLATION has hit Silverlake Ramen! After ordering from here for many years, I started to notice my noodle volume and meat quantity decrease. The noodles seem to have been cut by 30% and there is now only one piece of pork instead of two. They also forgot my soft boiled egg or maybe it doesn’t come with it anymore who knows!
Do you really think customers won’t notice you skimping on ingredients?
Food is still as tasty as ever, just drastically decreased in volume.

I walked in to order during my lunch break. The person taking my order, who was a large Latina woman, let me know they were not accepting card payments at the moment. I said that was fine because I had cash. I placed my order and my total was $20. I handed her a $100 bill and she let me know she did not have change. I checked my wallet for smaller bills but only had about $12 other than my $100 bill. I then mentioned that it didn’t seem fair that I was unable to use my card and they were not accepting my cash. She condescendingly said, we don’t have change for a $20 order, as if I wasn’t spending enough money to make it worth it for her to go in the back to make change. I said go ahead and I guess cancel my order and her response was “gladly.”
She was rude and as a person who has worked in service for many years, her snide response to me was disrespectful and not deserving. It is unfortunate because I truly liked dining at this place during my lunch break but I will not be going back due to poor customer service.
I wish you could do negative stars on this App. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. Not to sure what her name is because she refused to give it to me. Every time I come into this restaurant. This woman is always rude for no reason. I have been in here a few times over the last few months and each time their system for credit card is always down. I have even called before going inside and the same story of " it was working earlier but doesn't work now" always comes up. But it’s really not; they just want to be cash only without saying it. That’s fine but don’t try to force people to use third party apps with higher pricing to purchase food. If the WiFi works for the iPads to connect to those third party vendors it would work for card.
Today the attitude lady started when I asked if the card was working. In comes the eye rolls and weird rude tone. She told me I can order at the kiosk if I want but I decided to dine in. Normally a server takes your order while you’re sitting down offer you water and a chance to enjoy the place. Nope not Little Miss Ray Of Sunshine here.
This time she was trying to force me to prepay for my meal eventho I was eating inside. (Just a month or so ago another host helped me and I was able to keep an open tab even when paying cash.)I stated another group didn't prepay and she stated they had another person waiting. That person came and they never had to prepay. Not to sure why each time I come she gives this we don't want you energy but it's disgusting.
I was AWAY from her when actually spoke up about my feeling of always being treated badly here or different and her attitude on a call I was having the entire time I was there. I then went to the counter to officially order and pay she told me she didn't feel comfortable serving me I proceeded to ask for the managers name and number. She refused to give the managers name and told me to figure it out. Called the manager 4 times phone number wasn't working. Asked her to provide or confirm the correct number she refused. Continued to give me attitude. She finally agreed to confirm the number and manager I called them. The manager called the store and not me at all. Only found that out because The Queen of Comedy decided to laugh about it. While she continued to throw her weight around as the gatekeeper of Ramen being sarcastic and vile; I told her I began to write this review and was waiting for that callback.
The Sultan Of Spice then proceeded to call security on me while I was writing this review and waiting for management to call me back. Security was even surprised due to me being calm when he came in. I told him just finishing up this review and I’m gone. I finished up and She Sent Me The Most Juiciest Air kiss goodbye I caught it put it in my pocket and told her I hope her life gets less miserable. I would Never spend any money here again not worth it. Especially with treatment like this from employees and Michael Scott type of management. Not surprised at all the other bad reviews. This place was amazing now it just reeks of despair.

Really terrible food. :-(
ordered a spicy tuna bowl—tuna meat didn’t seem fresh, the rest of the bowl was unseasoned and bland. The lettuce was limp and avocado was brown.
I figured maybe ordering a ramen instead might be better so i did that instead. When we received our ramen, the food was very similar. Flavorless, unseasoned, broth smelled strange (not like miso), poor produce and I think they used spaghetti noodles?
Between one small bowl, two ramens and two bottled drinks our meal cost over $70.
Horrible meal, insane price.

The treatment my daughter received tonight from this restaurant’s manager tonight, is abhorrent. Here’s what happened:My daughter went out with friends from her National Mock Trial team. The irony here is that these kids know and understand the law and generally adhere to it. Tonight, my daughter and one of her teammates came in with their team to eat. They had intended to order at Silverlake, but nothing appealed to them. So they went next door to another restaurant and got an order. They came back and sat at a table next to her teacher. The waitress respectfully approached them and told the two girls they had to leave with their food. Their teacher/coach did NOT want her students outside and vulnerable under her watch, but understanding the request told the girls to come sit with her and the other student with her, figuring with them having just paid over $60 getting food, including some churros for the two girls.Shortly after the supervisor came over, and she told them that they had been told “multiple times” to leave.Keep in mind, at this point:1) there were two paying customers eating (~$60 worth of food), the coach and one other student2) the other girl, the one with my daughter, hadn’t even gotten the food out from the other restaurant, intending to eat back at the hotel3) the teacher had purchased churros for the two girls, so they HAD food purchased at this establishmentLong story short, my daughter was NOT harming their business. The restaurant was fairly empty. After hearing this the teacher sees that yes, there are signs saying to not bring outside food in: 2 small 4” signs that almost blends into the wall. This is a young girl from out of town, a straight A+ senior student. A GOOD kid.Was the restaurant in their legal rights. It came be argued yes, and this restaurant took to legalism rather than look at the sum total of the circumstance and choose human decency.I work in customer service. I know what giving a customer good service looks like. I know that sometimes you break a rule or two to make customers happy… and SAFE.I called the manager/supervisor and got the same legalistic corporate response. No apology … I’m sure she feels she did “The Right Thing”, and by the strictest of definitions she might have. But as far as customer service goes, this is despicable. It is wrong to turn out paying customers (churros) who are high school students, in a prestigious organization, with a responsible adult, simply because they are eating something else, politely, quietly. This attack on school aged children should be considered next time someone considers eating at this establishment.I’m sure the food is tolerable. But the heart here is empty. I’d recommend looking for alternatives.

This place makes great food ?, I usually order food to go from this specific location, but yesterday, I decided to eat in with a few family members who came from Antelope Valley. They came down to celebrate a 9 year Olds birthday ? who loves Ramen. I suggest this place because the food is always delicious when we order for pick up. YESTERDAY when we went it I would say that the experience would not be something that I can recommend to anyone. For one the resturant didn't have a card option only cash, and the only person at the register had no idea where the nearest ATM was at. Once we got all situated, it kinda felt like if we where not completely welcomed. Regardless, we stayed and ate the delicious food. At the end of it we paid but the VIBES there where not to welcoming ?♂️. I think I will just order for pick up next time around.

Wow this place really hits the spot I tried the California roll sushi which melted in my mouth and warmed my heart as well as mild ramen with soft boiled eggs that truly warmed my existence. The staff is ultra friendly and always welcomes me with open hearts and arms always. I will be back:)
