Soban, a cozy and low-key Korean restaurant in Los Angeles, is famous for its outstanding banchan and the soy-marinated raw crab, a rare delicacy in the area. The menu features traditional Korean dishes such as braised short rib and black cod, prepared with a light touch. The owner and staff are the nicest, most welcoming people. The ribs and cod specialties were tasty highlights of the meal. The soy marinated crab is quite a delicacy, full of flavor and so delicious with over 17 different aromatics. The Braised Short Rib was soft and tender and also full of flavor. The banchan assortment is very impressive with around a dozen or more different dishes that pair well with the food. This is the only restaurant that reminds many of their Korean grandma's cooking. The small space has a family-run vibe, and it is a worthwhile visit, especially for special occasions.
