Soba here is great (loved the duck especially) and the service is really fast. Got a fantastic lemon sour which I haven't had since I went to Japan. Also just such a cute atmosphere; perfect for chats with friends and date nights
We decided to try out SOBAR as it was close by to our stay while in LA
It was a great chance as the food was great. Everything was excellent to include our communication with other patrons

I had high hopes, but was not convinced about the concept of high end soba restaurant. We had Ribeye Niku Soba and Kakiage Soba. The flavor and presentation were acceptable, and I appreciated the attempts to elevate the dishes with high quality protein. But the soba noodles themselves were not that much different from the grocery bought home cooking. It was strange that the soba in Kakiage Soba were in small pieces, about 2 inches long, which made it hard to slurp like traditional...
