It was an odd experience with my server. First I was brought out the wrong drink. No big deal. They fixed it. But then she forgot an entire part of my order and didn't seem concerned about it at all. She did offer to order it later but I was already done with my meal. Everyone has their off days so I don't want her to get in trouble. It was just a poor service experience
It was a great experience. I was celebrating my birthday. The only down side is they were out of guacamole and we couldn't get it unless we ordered a plate where it came with it, which sucked but otherwise the food was great! The drinks were great, the ambience was such a vibe and our waiter was soo awesome! I will def be back!!
Made last minute reservations and got seated immediately upon arrival! The food was absolutely delicious (still salivating!) and the service was impeccable. I'm so sorry I didn't catch our server's name but she was so friendly, prompt, and helpful! Definitely will be back soon!
Our waiter was amazing, knowledgeable of menu and cocktails. He was very attentive to our needs and interests. The manager took time to visit customers and made recommendations as well.
The drinks were great! The food was so, so and not worth the value. Spent $250+ this evening. Shared the fajitas with my husband. Dish came with 3 tortillas. I asked for more tortillas and was charged $2.00!
Just okay. Too loud and busy. The drinks are great but my food has been mediocre the last 3 times I've visited. I would recommend the guacamole appetizers, but the entrees have disappointed me pretty consistently.
We were seated an hour after our reservation time and then didn't get our first drink until another 30 min after that. We had kids with us who fell asleep waiting for their food. The food didn't come for another hour. The whole experience was terrible. After I spoke with the manager he didn't bother to take anything off the bill or even send over dessert. He just gave us coupons for a few dollars off the next time we come back- which we won't be!! The goods not that good to be worth all this trouble.
The ambience and food was great. I always enjoy my experience at SOL. Also happy to see an African American female manager on staff. Kudos to the management team. ??????
Our waiter was completely useless and had no personality. Barely spoke at all. Not well suited at all for the hospitality business. The "carne asada" burrito was 90% black beans and 10% carne asada. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he shrugged and said sorry, but there was no effort to make it right or introduce us to the manager. We've been here before, but this was the last time.
Food was great. We loved the octopus and short rib. The fresh tortilla chip rounds were amazing and the CDMX taco and the roasted green sauce were phenomenal. Service table side was good when interacting with the server but overall the operations were really slow and everything seemed really difficult from getting seated to waiting forever to get even chips, the order of food as it came out was wonky (appetizer came out after our meals missing a serving spoon), etc. The tortilla soup was great but is so MASSIVE. They should really warn you when ordering a bunch of other food. We ordered two! One person got a spoon for their soup, the other person did not. Had to wait a while to get a spoon. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and there were no paper towels or hand dryers. I told someone at the bar. Later on my husband also went to the restroom and came back saying there were no paper towels in the mens. This is after me telling staff about the women's 10 min prior. It makes me nervous when operations are so out of step. Are people stressed, rushed in the kitchen, is our food being handled and stored properly? I do like the atmosphere and most of our dishes were super flavorful, even the margarita was really good, which says a lot but hope they really streamline their operations.

We were able to get a time late and it was well worth it. We enjoyed tacos, burritos and fajitas as well as the churros dessert. The margaritas were great too! for $2.00 more the large size is worth it!
Our food was delicious and our server was so nice! We enjoyed a large variety of Margaritas, both blended & on the rocks. The stars were Watermelon Margarita with Tajin rim, & the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita. All food was excellent including Guacamole Sol (some in group thought that the salsa could be more flavorful), Goat Cheese Enchiladas, Mushrooms & Poblano Burrito, Agave Shrimp Taco, and my personal favorite the Filet and Shrimp El Jefe! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their entrees. Sadly we were too full for any desserts. This is definitely a Playa Del Rey favorite and we'll be back soon!
Always great food at SOL! The chile verde and carne asada street tacos are a favorite and same goes for wagyu steak. Some nights are a bit louder than others, but SOL is always a great option when we need a solid, delicious meal.
Food is always so delicious and filling! Service has been better and our bill had a couple of items added to it that were not ours, we pointed it out to our waiter and he immediately confirmed those were a mistake and removed from our bill. We had chicken quesadilla, Asada burrito a short rib taco as always food is good!
Our server was BRILLIANT — I cannot remember his name but he was tall, slim, brunette and FULL of energy! Always checking on us and making the experience so enjoyable! Food has been amazing both times we went, tacos are fab and was able to have the fajitas vegan with seitan which wasn't on the menu so really appreciated the extra effort to accommodate ? Thank you all so much again!
