Enjoyed dinner on Valentine's Day. The restaurant was super busy as expected so I appreciated the solid service. The food was very good but you'll likely get more authentic Mexican food at a family-run establishment on the east side. The upside of SOL is the location and solid decor.
Great food...especially the guacamole and vampiro tacos. The only negative is that noise level is too high. We sat outside and with the window coverings down, we had to yell to hear one another.
Food and service were great. When dining for dinner however the television volume at the bar should be lowered a bit so people can hold conversations.
Great dinner experience. We brought friends visiting from Wisconsin and they loved it! Great cocktails and delicious food!
Always great! I've been to Sol twice this week. Love the weekend brunch... and the service is always incredible.
This was my first visit to the restaurant. I specifically went for happy hour with a friend I work with, so we can have some healthy venting. It was a great experience. We had the happy hour drinks, and the bartender that took care of us was attentive, and the drinks had been great! She has the watermelon margarita, and I had the house on the rocks with salt. Food wise we did not get things on the happy hour menu, I would say her meal was amazing, she said she really enjoyed it. I had the taco plate; the spicy slaw was addicting! My carne asada had some very chewy pieces in each taco, and they are small so it was very noticeable. it was still delicious, and you cant always help what ends up on the taco, so I'm still rating the food 4/5, but that's my only really complaint.
I was directed to sit outside on their patio, as it was “warmer”. But there was a festive office holiday party that was pretty close to where I & guest were seated. Once they left, the noise level dropped considerably. Food & drinks were great and we were able to utilize Happy Hour prices. Server was fabulous. I would definitely go back.
The food i@ Sol is delicious. Service rated as outstanding! The cocktails and wine selection is excellent. This is a great place to eat and socialize as they don't rush you after the food is eaten. Happy hour menu offers a great selection of food.
Horrible service and the fact that the waiter told us is Mandatory to add tip on top 2 credited cards were charged for the same items and did not acknowledge that the gratitude was already included so we added based on his mandatory request $271.00 in addition to $134.00 for the bill of $902
The waiter brought complimentary chips that were old, stale and tastes like fried old oil. The waiter question me about the quality and taste of of chips which I didn't understand why he was doing this. The food took longer than usually and drinks took even longer. It wasn't busy at the restaurant at this time. I ordered a second round of drinks and these took even longer to bring to the table. I asked the waiter if I could orders from the happy hour menu and explained that I need it to leave my table and go sit at the bar with my party to order from the happy hour many. The service overall was not exceptional. The waiter wasn't very attentive and friendly this time. I have been coming to this location many times through out the year and this is the first time the service was not good. The waiters name was Ian.

I love SOL, but tonight was a bit unusual. I tried to be understanding since it was the day before Thanksgiving, but our experience on the patio was challenging. We were seated outside and had to speak quite loudly just to hear each other. On top of that, another guest brought in a large dog that kept barking, which made it even harder to hold a conversation. On a positive note, the service and food were great-as always.
Wow! Awesome dinner, the Ceviche was outstanding and the Chili Relleno with shrimp was first class. Good subtle heat, by the time I finished my meal my brow had a good sweat going. This is some of the best higher-end Mexican food I have ever had. Service also excellent, so all around I highly recommend Sol.
Busy Saturday night, they need to hire more people. Our waiter was great but it took a long time to get things because he had to manage an entire outdoor area on his own.
The food and vibe here are wonderful. They also have an incredible happy hour with a great selection of food which is normally uncommon at happy hour. If you love high end Mexican food you will love this place
We arrived in LA late and were staying in Culver City. We were warmly welcomed at the late hour and never felt rushed. Margaritas were excellent. I had a burrito which was sizable and had a good mix of ingredients. Staff very attentive. Liked the open air atmosphere. Would like to have enjoyed on a sunny afternoon. Overall great experience. Would recommend.
