Never coming back here. Had a reservation and was placed in the very back corner underneath the bar. The white couple behind us was a walk in and was seated Ina much nicer area where other guests were also seated. I didn't say anything about the table because I wasn't sure if there were other reservations but the section we were in remained empty the entire night. We were the only brown people as far as I could see and it was very telling that they did not care for us to have a good experience. No one checked in on us until they tried to take our food order in which I asked for WATER because we were seated for about ten minutes and we didn't have any. I have worked multiple restaurants from taco spots to high end, and this is the worst experience I've ever had. Once we got the food that was it. No one checked in to see if we needed anything or were enjoying the meal. We also had to get up and close out because clearly they forgot about us or just did not care. I felt like I was on punishment and on top of that the food was okay. Terrible establishment. Don't come here unless you're white! Much rather go to La Pergoletta. If I could rate zero stars I would.
I like that they let you trade seeds for food and drinks.

Got told to wait outside while waiting on a delivery after they took too much time past the estimates given . There was space inside too. Staff shouldn’t treat people like that.
Don't forget to visit lance, he's a bit of a quirky guy but he will fix you up no problem.

Okay food, poor service. You can find better restaurants nearby for the price.
Stepping off the street past the red plastic curtains take you to another place. It’s a cozy warm front yard in Puglia, and your new friends you met at the lido are having you over. Twist; they aren’t italian but transplants from LA who used to work in music.
A huge multi-generational family took up the center tables while dates were dotted around them. It did take a sec to get attention from the staff, but big tables do that to any restaurant. Once we placed an order we were off, and everything paced out nicely. Bruschetta is finished with raw garlic for a bright bite, and the fennel salad has a touch of horseradish that electrifies its pollen flavors. Stealing that.
All the pasta is handmade, even the buccatini. They pulled off! The Amatriciana has a wonderful American breakfast quality because its made with bacon in lieu of guanciale and the puttanesca is finished with anchovies at the end instead of the beginning so they shine over the capers instead of vice versa.
Tiramisu has thick rich mascarpone cream and I think a touch of hazelnuts in there. Marzipan cookies to finish and they forgot a drink but offered to comp us something to go which is really sweet. I never expect a flawless experience; dining in like a conversation and both sides need grace. Speranza has it in spades.

My experience with this restaurant was a complete fiasco! When I went in to order, they told me to wait 10 minutes. When I went back in 10 minutes later, they told me to wait another 8 minutes. After waiting another 8 minutes, I went back in and was told my order was still not ready! I've been waiting for a total of 21 minutes and still no order. I've never seen a business so uncaring, irresponsible, and disrespectful to customers. Don't ever go here if you don't want to waste your time!

Food poisoning- some of the absolute worst in my life. Other people I know had heard of some diners here getting sick, but I, unfortunately, ignored it.
Someone isn’t washing their hands properly making this. I’ve doubled over all night- this from just watching the bolognese.

Speranza used to be one of my favorite Italian spots in Silver Lake, but I’ve noticed a shift in the last year or two where they are cutting back on portions, sauce, and complimentary bread, while raising prices on everything. My last few delivery orders of the Vongole barely had any flavor because there was practically no sauce, which I usually enjoy dipping their bread into.
The bread is still very good, but after a recent dine in experience, I noticed they only serve one piece of complimentary bread with 4 small slices, which is nothing when you have 4 people dining. If you want more bread, it’s $6 for the same amount. In the past, I remember getting at least 3 rounds of bread included while we waited for our dishes. On top of this, the portion for the Lasagna was ridiculously small even after the server assured me it would be filling for one person. Overall, the atmosphere is still nice, but we left feeling a bit disappointed with the food experience.

I eat at Speranza regularly. The pasta is great, the prices are reasonable, and you can usually get a table. Nice atmosphere too. It’s just kind of the perfect restaurant.
