I can't speak highly enough of Spotted Hen. They were the first and ONLY recommendation we got from our planner when we told her we wanted to do a non-traditional tapas style meal for our wedding, and we were completely sold from the jump. Our tasting was INSANELY delicious, super personal, and really fun! Taylor was so comprehensive with everything details-wise, I knew we were going to be in good hands. Food was very important to us (especially my now husband, it was his number one most important thing for our wedding!), and let me say we and our guests were not disappointed!! We mainly worked with Dana, and she was just so amazing from driving to meet up with us for deposit hand offs and detail meetings, to arranging our beautiful tasting at chef Teri's house. We ended up going with tray passed apps, charcuterie board spread, buffet style catering, and even a late night snack. The food presentation was absolutely gorgeous, not your typical boring row of chafing dishes! Most importantly, the food tasted just out of this world. Trust me and the other reviewers when we say that people will be talking about how good your food was! Also- literally every vendor we booked after booking Spotted Hen made a comment that they are the best when finding out that they were booked as our caterer. If thats not a sign that they truly are amazing, I don't know what is....

Their team managed the flow of the meal effortlessly and were attentive - we also had tray-passed appetizers during cocktail hour which were a hit with the guests. Overall, the staff managed the catering service well and everything went smoothly so we could enjoy the wedding day without any worries. The Spotted Hen team was incredible to work with from the beginning. They were meticulous and detailed, they made sure that all specifications were accounted for and that we were aware of what rentals and materials were needed. They offered a variety of dishes, appetizers and desserts to choose from. And I have to mention the vanilla cake with berries - one of the best cakes I've had in my life. Spotted Hen recently provided the appetizers, dinner, and dessert for our wedding, and every part of it was a hit. We loved the unique touches of having vegetables (and edible flowers) grown in the chef’s home garden, and honestly the only trouble we had was picking what we wanted on the menu, since we wanted to try it all. We ended up with three appetizers, two main entrees (and several sides), and a cake for a very reasonable price. The Spotted Hen team took the stress out of everything, answering our questions in the months, weeks, and days before our wedding, and readily accommodated our guests’ various food preferences and allergies with impressive flexibility. That was already a huge mark in their favor as our venue was very uptight, so anyone who met their approval was clearly solid, professional, and likely had a good track record. We took a chance and set up a tasting. Honestly, the tasting alone was worth the booking. We were immediately treated like family and were given amazing food, amazing wine, and had a truly wonderful time getting to know this catering team. On the actual day, we didn’t know if they could replicate the experience we had at the tasting but they truly went above and beyond. Every guest complimented us on the food, both in terms of taste and presentation. Our photographer was so enthralled by the entrees that she forgot to take photos of them. My wife and I made the decision to do most of the planning ourselves and just went with a planner on the wedding day. Spotted Hen clearly and easily communicated everything they needed to be provided by the rental agency and it was truly almost nothing. I still don’t know how they did it. The salmon was flaky and moist, the steak was hearty and flavorful, and the cake was truly divine. It really felt, more so than any other vendor that we hired, that we were on a team together and that these people were our friends. I can’t communicate how much that helps with the stress of the day. We knew we were in good hands, and were delighted when Taylor came out to check on us as the evening was winding down. I can also say, definitively, that no other vendor invited us over for cocktails AFTER the wedding! Do yourself a favor and go with Spotted Hen. Your guests will thank you.
