I'm not a big fan of this business model personally. I walked over here from work to grab coffee for myself and my coworkers. Since driving in this area is such a pain. When I got there, it took like 25 minutes to get 3 coffees, and they don't have a restroom in these drive-up-style locations, so it wasn't exactly ideal. I had to run back to work with the coffee. It's not the staff's fault by the way. They're quick and great, but they only had 2 people on staff in the afternoon and they were clearly overworked.

Is this a glimpse into Starbucks' future operating model, or merely a test of new e-order technologies to complement existing ones?
At the very least, I can say this Starbucks location is quite unique on the West side. With architectural vibes reminiscent of Scandinavia- and seen everywhere these days (somewhere between IKEA and the midcentury era) this location is an order-to-go only café.
There are no chairs or indoor spaces available. Just a small parking lot, a large window, and... that's pretty much it. They prefer if you pre-order online, but you are welcome to try your luck at the window.
In short, with this concept, Starbucks attempts to minimize human interaction to its bare minimum. I have to admit it was pretty fast, but it definitely gave off a weird vibe of dehumanized coffee since you can barely see and appreciate the people working hard in the back to make our cup of joe.

Very nice Starbucks location in West L.A. in the Palms area right off the I-10 freeway at Overland Avenue. I decided to stop by since I was on my way to Jefferson Park for Ciclovia coming from Westwood. I wanted to get my usual halfway through my ride and Google maps reminded me that this was a location I had never visited after riding past it many times. I will definitely go back as this is around some of my favorite hang outs when I'm in West L.A. There is no drive through or a dine in but you can always stand and drink/snack nearby.

We stopped here because I wanted coffee and my partner was having a bathroom emergency. She has diagnosed IBS and Crohn’s disease, informed the staff and manager of this and was refused entry to the bathroom. This is illegal in CA according to the Restroom Access Act and should be common knowledge in the restaurant business. Don’t come to this location, plenty of fantastic independently owned coffee shops in the area that that have better coffee/food anyway.

I like it the staff is nice, so far I have had great service. I also like that they have a screen, so you know where exactly your order is at.
It just depends on who's working 90% of the time my coffee is amazing. The other 10 is missing something, or it's too burnt and bitter.
