Stir Crazy is one of those rare places that immediately makes you slow down. The space itself is warm, intimate, and deeply personal — the kind of restaurant where the noise settles into a comfortable hum and you find yourself lingering longer than you planned. Sitting on Melrose, you expect the usual LA energy, but the moment you walk inside it feels as though you've been transported somewhere small and European. Cozy without being precious, relaxed without losing intention. The wine list alone is worth the visit. Thoughtful, extensive, and clearly curated by people who genuinely love wine, it invites exploration rather than intimidation. It feels less like ordering from a menu and more like being guided through someone's personal collection. What I love most is how effortless the experience feels. The food, the atmosphere, the pacing — everything works together in a way that makes the evening feel easy and unforced. It's the kind of place that becomes a regular without you realizing it, somewhere you return to for conversation, a good bottle, and a sense of being taken care of without fuss. Simply put, it's divine.

Fantastic experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff was super friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be back!

Pricey, but some solid dishes like leek toast, onion dip, rockfish carpaccio. Poached chicken was egregiously expensive and not that great. Yummy desserts. Chill nice staff. Tables on sidewalk are a little too close to the action of the street. They should probably limit it to the confines of the immediate outside area.

Restricted residential parking after 6pm, but can find some free meter street parking or go off Melrose two blocks down.

Loved the cozy and comfortable and classic interior and the food was simple but delicious.

It has a warm, inviting atmosphere and the service was nice and receptive. Unfortunately, although the food was tasty, the portions versus the prices left much to be desired. The concept of shared plates has become quite common in Los Angeles, but sometimes the lack of quantity leaves even a foodie a bit perplexed. Two of us ordered the dates, bread, and 4 plates. I left absolutely starving. When I compare this to Bacari (which is also a shared plates concept), the same order will leave you with leftovers. I'm not saying I wanted or expected leftovers, but I think the discrepancy is a little extreme. I want to say that Stir Crazy is more refined and more sophisticated than a Bacari. But I'm not sure it's worth paying the equivalent of 2x. If I'm paying $75-100 a person, I want to leave full (or help reset expectations that this is a different tier of restaurant that requires spending over $100 a person). I think it's caught in the middle. Hence the 3 stars.

Must be able to cancel a reservation — uncool to charge $25 per person and then not be able to change on open table or call a phone number at the restaurant

Stir Crazy is so so special. The cozy space is intimate and inviting. Mackenzie and the entire team are warm and attentive. So much love and energy goes into every dish that Chef Caroline Leff puts out. Stir Crazy is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Los Angeles and I will keep going back time and time again <3

This was a fantastic dining and drinking experience! Our server was one of the best we've ever had. Beyond friendly and personable. Would absolutely go back.

Had a completely wonderful meal, we ordered most of the menu, service was excellent. Ordered a bottle of cider on recommendation - which was also fabulous.

Amazing and warm staff, one of the best wine lists in the city, and the food is creative and unpretentious!! If I could set up a bed in the back and live here I would!

What do I say about Stir Crazy- it's perfect , every time. Every detail. How often do you get to say that about a spot anymore that's that consistent. The service is perfection - kind , attentive and friendly. The space is beautiful it feels warm and cozy - a space in LA THATS actually not pretentious. It's so nice to go to a place as a single woman with a book and enjoy her time- her food, not feel rushed. The joys of a Wednesday evening - than you Stir Crazy.
