Best meal we had in LA! Visiting from New Mexico and my wife and I enjoyed every bite of food and sip of wine from start to finish. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and each wine we tasted was unique and delicious. Inside of the restaurant is beautifully put together. Can’t wait to return! Excellent job Stir Crazy!!!

The staff was very cold and exuded generally weird energy towards us. The service was also very slow. Sitting outside on a car-busy melrose st is terrible in general but more so when you’re on a date. Your conversations are constantly interrupted with cars speeding, peeling off, honking etc.Wine list was also weird. They served my red wine in a 3oz glass when the menu didn’t specify that. My dates wine was incredibly sweet - they did warn us but it wasn’t drinkable (this was specified as 3oz pour). I wanted to talk to staff but they didn’t come back for 30 mins after serving so just drank anyway. Food was average. Would not return.

Beautiful dining experience! Lovely service, delicious food, wonderful wines. Highly recommend a visit. The brown butter striped bass crudo, the Romano beans, the escabeche, the sausage, the strawberry dessert, and the espresso dessert were all so so good. Look forward to going back.

Stir Crazy is like microdosing the Marais in Paris. Nothing else like it in LA. Nothing more to be said.

Absolutely delicious! Been multiple times since it reopened. Wine is superb and the food is the best in the neighborhood. It’s always worth the wait.

Ahh it makes me so sad to hear that Stir Crazy closed it's doors. I used to go there from the time they were located a couple of addresses to the right of where it's located now on Melrose. They were one of the few cafes from the 90's that had survived and that meant a lot to me.I stopped going there because it had become so crowded with people and their laptops having ridiculously loud conversations last time I would go there. It seemed sacrilegious to me to witness this change with the plug in and zone out ilk oblivious to the homespun atmosphere the management was providing.Anyways, Dino and his staff were always welcoming and I felt like they were the only cafe in that area that provided this home like environment usually playing singer songwriter music from the 60's and 70's like Cat Stevens and James Taylor. I used to go there before seeing a double feature at the New Beverly, back in my pot smoking days :) or a film at the now defunct Regent Theater on La Brea. I also used to meet up with musicians I was interested in playing music with at the time and exchanged demos on cd back when that was still a practice pre-Bandcamp in the early aughts. And sure, I would surf the web with my laptop using the infamous Stir Crazy password phrase, if you know, you know. Anyways, I just wanted to say I'm grateful for having experienced it as it was or how I'd like to remember it, as a meeting place for creative types looking for inspiration or just a place to chill out from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Thank you Dino and staff and best wishes for your future endeavors business or otherwise.
