WOW! Eli and Stephanie were so accommodating. We came in 3 days before our event anticipating 40+ guests and they squeezed us in. The food was excellent, hands down best Mediterranean food I’ve had and they were so understanding and communicative. 10/10 experience!

Great and distinctively flavored food in a nice looking space with great ambiance! Plus the food is not terribly expensive. The two person combo we ordered was less than $50. Not bad at all and it was quite filling.
Great food, eyecatching dining space and ambiance pretty much are what characterizes a complete restaurant and I completely love Sumac!
We started with Lebanese sausages. They are small and taste pretty good though they are not my favorite sausages ever. They come with pickles and fries. The fries were amazing.
We had a combo plate for two people. It included chicken kabab, beef kabab and kafta, with rice, hummus and pickles. I totally loved the kafta it’s perfectly condimented, but not in a way that will upset your stomach like in the case of some Indian dishes. The chicken kabab was very tender and perfectly flavored. I’ve never had a chicken kebab like this one anywhere else. The beef kebab was perfect. The pickles were really good and the hummus was quite unique in taste though I can’t say it’s my favorite hummus. The rice wasn’t good. I didn’t enjoy it. The food was arranged quite aesthetically and they pay great attention to detail. Some of their servingware is really cute.
They’ve got outside seating available.
Meter parking outside.

Absolutely terrible service. When I arrived to pick up my online order, the employee was incredibly rude and dismissive. Without even checking, she casually claimed there were no orders in the kitchen. If this is how she normally treats people—especially delivery drivers—it’s unacceptable. In my case, I was there to pick up my own order. She didn’t even acknowledge me properly, continuing with her tasks and refusing to engage in a professional manner despite the quiet morning. After this experience, I have no intention of returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This restaurant is an absolute gem! As someone originally from the Middle East, I can confidently say the food here is as authentic as it gets – every dish is packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. The kebbeh is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the chicken shawarma is juicy and flavorful, and the hummus is so smooth and creamy, it feels like a taste of home.
The owner, Elie, and his team are some of the kindest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met. From the moment you walk in, you feel like part of their family. They are so generous with their time and hospitality, going above and beyond to make every visit special.
I truly cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu. If they opened a location on the Westside, I’d probably be there every single day! This is hands down one of the best middle eastern dining experiences I’ve had in LA. Highly recommend!

This place is a hidden gem! After hiking Runyon Canyon, I was looking for a healthy, fresh meal and decided to try this restaurant because it serves Mediterranean food—a favorite of mine for healthy options. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and fresh everything was. The service was great too, and the prices were very reasonable. It definitely exceeded my expectations, and I’ll be coming back for sure!

Great food and the host were amazing. The ambiance is pretty stellar as well. Would say it definitely one of the superior places for Lebanese food in all aspects.

We’ve been meaning to try Sumac since it opened and we finally did! The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We had the kofta wrap, the chicken shawarma (probably the best in town, a must try!), the hummus (has no garlic and tastes amazing!), the falafel (just the prefect crunch and taste), the fatteh and the zaatar with cheese manoushe 10/10. For dessert we had the ashta ice cream with pistachios paired with turkish coffee. So so good!
As a Lebanese living in LA, it definitely felt like a short trip to home. If you’re looking for an authentic and reasonably priced food experience, this is definitely THE place. I forgot to take photos of the food because I couldn’t wait to dig in!
Last but not least, big thank you to the owners Eli and Stephanie for their hospitality and service. We will definitely be back!
