Excellent food! We had the chicken shawarma plate and a mankouche. Both were really delicious! Lovely establishment and wonderful family owned business. Service is attentive and kind. Top notch - DEFINITELY visit!

It's our second time to visit Sumac. First time we ordered a wrap and salad to go. We didn't expect anything, but the first bite just blown our minds away, it was so flavorful and delicious! So we are back again today and again, we were surprised by how well everything tasted! I started with the house made garlic sauce, OH MY!!! It was crazily delicious! A mouth full of the richness of garlic and I don't know what else but just perfectly tasty. Our only regret was that we should not have ordered the fries. As their rice was so so delicious too, they made everything from scratch and you can taste the freshness and special flavor you cannot taste anywhere else. I love everything they serve, it would have been even better if they can serve the naan hot next time rather than cold; my mind was blown away, but if they served the naan hot or warm, with the fluffy texture, I think I won't even recognize my way home :) We will definitely be back and taste all their food. There are a lot of choices and we are planning to taste everything there. Thank you Sumac!

Best Mediterranean food I've had in LA and I've had quite a bit. Every time I come I order a bit of everything and I leave a freaking happy camper. Can't wait to come back again.

Yesterday we were invited to an event and the food was catered from this restaurant. I can tell that nothing was delicious! Even the way of serving the food was very poor without any decoration. On top of that, the tabbouleh salad missed the dressing. I went to ask one of the staff about the dressing although specifically the tabbouleh should be mixed with dressing and not put it aside to be added later individually. So he answered me very rudely and I'm not sure if he is the manager, saying that he mixed it himself and kind of accusing me that I'm lying and he insisted that he added the dressing although it was completely dry. It seems that he messed between the fattoush salad and the tabbouleh. That was so impolite and so unprofessional way of reacting with the guests and I'll sure inform the inviter. I heard also many guests saying same notice about the food and the tabbouleh. Shame on this service!

I've been on a health kick and opting for healthy soups for breakfast / brunch. I came across Sumac on Postmates and was intrigued because everything seemed freshly prepared and thoughtfully prepared. I ordered a chicken bone broth soup + hummus with warm pita bread for pick up. It all was really tasty. The touch of lemon (.50 for the add on) paired well with the broth and they gave me an incredible amount of hummus ($9). Pita was warm and fluffy. The restaurant was cute and the ambiance was nice, peaceful and clean. Service was easy and staff was polite. Would definitely come back!

Title: Disappointing Lunching Experience at Sumac My recent visit to Sumac left much to be desired. While the service was satisfactory, thanks to a pleasant waiter, the food and overall experience fell short of expectations. The dishes were a complete letdown, lacking any discernible flavor and, to my dismay, even made me feel unwell afterward. Despite the hefty price tag, the quality of the food was subpar, making it a poor value for money. To add insult to injury, upon receiving the bill, I was surprised to find an additional software fee, which I found utterly unjustifiable. In conclusion, I will never patronize this restaurant ever again.

Waitress was rude. Water had a fly in it. Chicken was flavorless, do not recommend. Inside was clean and kept, that was the only positive.

When my business partner bit into the kebeh that we ordered he made a face of delight that I’ve never seen him make before. I laughed out loud. He said, “This is the best kebeh I’ve ever had” and I said, “I can tell!” He was right. What a beautiful experience it was to dine at Sumac. This place is special. This isn’t just authentic Lebanese food, it’s curated recipes from Lebanese Mom and Grandma and Great Grandma, or at least that’s what I imagined. I’m already craving more Babaganoush topped with pomegranate seeds. The chicken shawarma sandwich was fresh and tender and delicious. The owner Eli and staff are lovely and welcoming. I can’t wait to try other items on the menu in the future. Today I just wanted my favorite Lebanese comfort food items and I succeeded in getting them. Easy parking, patio, bar, good vibes all around. I loved sitting in the window and looking at the flowering geraniums just on the window sill. It’s the details.

Ordered Uber Eats from here. The chicken shwarma doesn’t look or taste like shawarma. It was like boiled chicken. They forgot to include the second entree. The tabbouleh salad wasn’t close to what it should be either.

So happy I finally tried this place after hearing so many great things. This is 100% the best Lebanese/Mediterranean food I’ve ever had in Los Angeles. This is a family owned spot with authentic, home style food and you can tell that it’s made with love. We got to meet the owner, Eli, who stopped by our table and made sure we were taken care of the whole night. We got the chicken shawarma wrap and plate, the tabbouleh and the side of fried potatoes. Everything was fresh and delicious and the portions were generous. We will definitely be back soon!
