I miss the salt and pepper wings. But the food and thai teas are top shelf!

I finally checked out Summer Buffalo after my sister kept raving about it had to see what the hype was about! I ordered the tofu pad Thai with extra sauce and the mango sticky rice.
The pad Thai was solid the extra sauce definitely helped. The mango sticky rice was good but I wish it was juicier? Maybe a bit more of the coconut sauce could’ve made it less dry. That said, the space itself is really cute dark, cozy, with a nice ambiance. And the staff is SO sweet and welcoming. Seriously, thank you for being so kind!
Not mind-blowing, but overall a really good experience. I’d come back!

Absolute favorite Thai spot in the city! I don’t think I’ve had food this good since I was in Thailand. All of the dishes are bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned and very generous portions. The flavors are very true not Americanized, which I really appreciate. Current favorites are the pad see ew, papaya, salad, green curry, grapow gai with egg, and of course, a mango sticky rice when it’s in season! Cute spot for a casual lunch/dinner, and definitely worth getting takeout if you’re not feeling up for it

Summer Buffalo on Melrose is one of those rare spots that delivers every time. The food is consistently flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. I’ve had several dishes here, but the Pad See Ew and Panang Curry are standouts—bold, comforting, and perfectly balanced. Spice levels are on point too, so don't be afraid to ask for medium or hot if you're into heat.

The vibe is casual but cute, perfect for a low-key dinner or catching up with friends. Staff is always friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Parking can be a little tricky (hey, it’s Melrose), but the food more than makes up for it.

A must-visit if you're craving Thai in LA.

This is a nice, small, quaint place with great service and delicious food. It's a smaller, more intimate type of restaurant that serves Thai food. I was with my daughter and we both had the Thai Tea which was very good. We ordered egg rolls for an appetizer, then she had the Snow Crab Meat Fried Rice and I had the Garlic Chicken Noodle. We both were full after eating just half of our meals so we were able to bring the other half home. The female server was really pleasant and helpful (didn't catch her name) but she saw my daughter looked cold as we came in from a day event and my daughter had on a short sleeve shirt but we were seated at a table by the door and there was a cool draft coming in. So the server turned on the heat in the restaurant just for my daughter. And she was sure to check on us throughout eating our meal to make sure we were good. I'd definitely return. My daughter had been here before but it had been a long time and she wasn't sure if it was still there or where it had moved to, when we stumbled upon it.

There is 2 hour street parking nearby and a few metered spots, but must be careful as there's also permit parking too. But the 2 hr parking is available in the permit parking area but can't park there between 8pm and 8am. There's also a paid parking lot behind the restaurant that I saw cost $12 (we parked on the street during the 2 hr allowance).

UPD: It has now been 7 years since my first 5* review of this place, and IMHO, this is still the best Thai restaurant in LA. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

I came to the spot just because I knew they would let you bring your dog in and I was pleasantly surprised with this being the best Thai food I’ve had in
