I really like this place. Small bakery tucked into the shopping plaza. They have similar items to a Paris baguette or 86 degrees. But they have a good selection and their chocolate bolo are my absolute favorite.

They are permanently closed as of 12/8.So sad. I loved their Tiger Boba and baked goods.

I wanted into Sunmerry and was greeting with a warm welcome s the sensational scent of freshly baked pastries. I had a Nutella pastry and an amazing Guava Cream Cheese Concha that did not make it out the bakery. They also have a deal where if you buy bread you get a coffee half off and the coffee is great as well.

Beware: the cups they use are extremely fragile. I had my boba drink burst after I got home from purchasing. More than half of my drink immediately spilled over my kitchen floor and fridge after I had it cooling. Waste of money + tip. The gentleman who served me was very nice though.

Disappointing experience with my drink order. Staff wasn't apologetic at all. Waited 20 minutes for my drink order while another customer was complaining, then was only given one drink and someone else's. Was told, and again not apologetic that she didn't do my order, it was going to take another "5min" and then she proceeded to make someelses drink ..it was a hot mocha..mine was iced and should be in a clear cup. I have been to this location before and was given poor serv but the drink was awesome but today was very disappointing not only for the lack of customer service and empathy from the staff. I told them that I was paying for parking and they still didn't care. I asked for a refund then I noticed she was making a mocha with chocolate sauce, not mine, and asked for a refund. She needed to stop what she was doing and hold up making drinks entirely. An apology and maybe a free moon cake have been enough, instead of no apology and a receipt I don't understand for a refund.retrain your staff because I wasn't as rude as the customer before me and they provided her free cakes for complaining and holding up the line..but I guess because I wasn't that race or at least that's what I felt because i wasn't afford the same customer service. I've been to three other locations and never once this issue....these issues..just here. Props to Rolling Hills and Arcadia.

Came here on a recent LA trip to pick up the ube cold brew for an early next day. Was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the drink! Good ube flavor, and kept me awake.I imagine the other Sunmerry locations would have good drinks also. Wouldn't come to this particular location unless I was already in the Sawtelle area as it gets pretty hectic around dinnertime.

This place makes my favorite matcha croissant! It's not too sweet and has a great matcha flavor.

This Taiwanese bakery is a convenient spot for quick bites, offering an array of options. If you're a fan of soft bread, you'll find plenty to enjoy here. However, if softer bread isn't your preference, this might not be the ideal choice for you.

It is a bit pricey regarding its quality. The quality is good and the products are delicious but they are a little overpriced. There are some free and paid parking spaces, but they are limited and hard to find during the busy hours.

While visiting my fellow noodle-loving brother-in-law in Los Angeles, we were roaming LA's Little Osaka for lunch when I spotted a banner advertising Brioche Donuts. I insisted that my brother-in-law pulls into the strip mall's parking lot so I could get a better look at and taste of this bakery's treats. My brother-in-law said he intended to go into that strip mall to try a Northern Chinese noodle restaurant since he hankered for regional noodle soups. After parking, I made a beeline to the bakery. I noted its name, Sunmerry Bakery, and realized that I'd been to its original location in the heart of Taipei City, Taiwan, across from the original site of Din Tai Fung, in the Da'an District. I remembered this bakery's Japanese origin and baking techniques and their use of Asian flavors hence their location in Little Osaka. A female worker greeted me immediately when I inquired about the brioche donuts' availability. She said the donuts weren't ready yet since their shelf was bare, and it would probably take another 10 to 15 minutes before the baker would set them out. Luckily, we hadn't eaten lunch yet, so I told her we'd return after lunch at a nearby restaurant. We returned an hour later and found the shelves fully stocked with luscious brioche donuts and other pastries. There were six types of brioche donuts, but I zeroed in on the four filled donuts and got one of each. The flavors that I selected were custard, black sesame, matcha, and apple. Each donut costs $3.50.I patiently waited to return home to cut into each donut even though we overate at lunch. The decadent, buttery brioche donut was a bit firmer than I remembered the textures from Taipei's Sunmerry Bakery and Portland, Oregon's Blue Star Donuts. However, we enjoyed the generous fillings, which weren't cloyingly sweet as in Western bakeries. Also, the Asian flavors were delicate and balanced with the buttery brioche. The cashier was friendly, engaging, and cheery. Um. Who wouldn't be when working in a bakery? We'd happily return to satisfy our sugar cravings.

Sunmerry has got to be one of my favorite Taiwanese bakeries. There are several of these bakeries all around Los Angeles, but this location (Sawtelle) is relatively new. The store doesn't have any seating so everything is for takeaway. It's tucked away in a small plaza with a parking lot. The bread here is so fluffy and fresh. I came early in the morning around 10:30am (half an hour after they opened) and the store was already lined with the bread. They have a relatively large selection given how small the store is and they are constantly advertising new creations. I'll admit that I should do a better job at giving their new pastries a try, but I am a creature of habit and I always end up getting the same ones. My favorites are the cheese and hot dog breads, coconut twists, and nutella bolos. The hot dog bread has the right amount of savoriness/saltiness from the cheese and hot dog, and is balanced by the sweet milk bread. The coconut twists could use a few more raisins but I love the chewy texture + crispy coconut flakes. The nutella bolo is just perfect - not too sweet (even though it's chocolate) and has the crispy top just like a regular bolo bao. So happy that a Sunmerry opened here!

Gosh IT IS SO GOOD! Their mochi donut (especially the black sesame) is the best I’ve had (and I’ve had A LOT). Bought the chocolate cake (the one in the fridge) for a dinner with friends and everyone loved it! Everything is perfectly not-too-sweet (which I love) ?

Nice bakery. Got a cheese cake and a mochi donut. Both good.
