Sunshine was one of my favorite place to go to. Their Thai soup and egg rolls was a must. I miss them!! I hope they reopen again.
I hope this place opens again and soon the best place to eat.
Sunshine is permanently closed it was my family restaurant since I was a baby I'm going to miss you sunshine??????
I am losing hope of you guys ever reopening again. The whole family misses you guys we hope all is well and Aubrey often misses the cucumber.
My best memories and first time having Thai food as kid. The consistency of the food is so good and the best part is that they treat you like family. This has been here since 80s. Mr Sunshine may Rest In Peace always would have the time to come to your table and personally check on you and treat with the delicious fried plantains? thank you @ sunshine family for your incredible hospitality to the community!
Does anyone know if they still in business?
I have been eating at this family restaurant for decades. The Singapore noodles and hurricane soup cannot be beat anywhere in LA.
I’ve tried two different dishes from here so far: beef and broccoli with mushrooms, rice and oyster sauce, which I had 3 or 4 different times. And another time I tried their steamed sole fish. Okay food. They haven’t impressed me yet, but I only tried two different offers from their menu. However, after eating their beef and broccoli with oyster sauce about 4 times in about a month, I had a vertigo/dizziness reaction to their oyster sauce, and I also felt strange and I felt foggy for a few days. I googled that, and dizziness/vertigo is indeed a symptom often caused by oyster sauce. I like the taste of oyster sauce but my body isn’t used to it, it’s some type of allergic reaction (and yet I’m not allergic to oysters, just oyster sauce), and in 2021 it has happened to me when I’ve eaten oyster sauce from a different restaurant as well, so it wasn’t their oyster sauce in particular. In mid 2020, I tried their pieces of steamed sole fish, which I had no problems with but which I didn’t much like. Further detail: even the first time that I had the beef and broccoli with oyster sauce, dining in their restaurant at a table, I felt a sudden surge of dizziness: I didn’t know what that surge of dizziness was from at the time, I never have had that happen to me in a restaurant. I barely have ever had that happen to me anywhere; and the last time since something like that happened to me (though never at a restaurant) had been years. So when it happened again after eating the same dish with oyster sauce on one or two subsequent occasions, then there was no doubt it was from the oyster sauce. I decided to give them 4 stars because the problem I had with the oyster sauce is because I’m not used to oyster sauce in general, it’s not a problem specifically with their oyster sauce.
Great service and delicious food!I always stop by here and I am greeted with kindness :)
good takeout right down the street, super convenient

I've been going to this spot for over 15 years, its my favorite place to go get Thai Food! They are implementing covid guidelines excellent and feel safe when ordering food togo.So many dishes that are amazing but the top top favs would be Hurricane Soup, Kai Kua, Pad See Ew, Green Papaya Salad, Combination Fried Rice, And #42! You will not be disappointed ordering here. Don't forgot to grab an Ice Coffee or Jamaica and a couple of pieces of fried bananas! Bring extra cash with you!
This is a mom and pop establishment. The location of the restaurant may throw you off guard, but this is a gem. I always make sure to get their Fancy Chicken which are julienned strips of chicken in a tomato/fish sauce stew broth with pineapple to compliment your savory and sweet taste buds. The Hurricane soup is a hurricane of big chucks of white cod, squid, shrimp and mushroom in a tom yum base broth. It's much better if it's spicy, but I usually eat with my elderly and can't handle the heat. Growing up Filipino, rice is life and it's a staple of our diet. Kapi rice is the way to go. Kapi rice is technically a salad that's needs to tossed. Kapi Rice is the Thai version of the Korean bimimpap. Just look at the pictures to see for yourself. Oh, always make sure to get their fried banana.
At the moment you arrive in this place team give you a pleasant feeling. Very friendly team, it is a happy restaurant to enjoy with friends and colleagues or with your date. heavenly cooking, qualified chef, good cost and courteous service. Highly recommended.
